Anybody going up to highway 129 anytime in August? I've got 30 days of leave I've got to burn before the govt. fiscal year ends (Oct.) so I don't lose it. I plan on taking pretty much the whole month of August off, and was thinking of cruising up to the dragon one weekend. Later.

I'm going this month. . . . but have a great time. My folks live in Destin, so maybe I'll see you down there sometime!

It is a nice twisty(318 curves in 11 miles) road in E Tennessee/W N Carolina.

Every year on the first full weekend in May is MINIs On The Dragon-just a "small" get together.

Short answer... the Dragon crosses the border between Tennessee and North Carolina, in the Smoky Mountains.

Also make sure you look at this website (all about the road, not specific to any one vehicle, although it leans towards bikers).

Yeah, unfortunately I never seem to get to take leave and it all builds up. It'll be nice though.

A few of us are going sometime in August for a day trip. Most likely on a Sunday. My brother has a friend from work that is over here for 3 months from Germany. We told him we would take him to the dragon before he leaves.

I will be down there on Aug 19th with another MINI and a few other imports for a Central Illinois run. You are welcome do join up with us if you would like.

I'll be in touch. Sounds like Som Won is going down there around the time I'm looking for. I have to get one last fun filled run in the MINI because my wife and I's baby will be due in September, but I have a feeling it's gonna want to be let out near the end of August. Thanks for letting me know.
