A Real Street Race PT II

Oh you gullible people.

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ad.php?t=72024

I have enough time on this board to know what is expectable and what is not. Look at the date and post count. Upper right hand corner people.

The post was totally factious. Posted only to raise some adrenalin in the blood of you who need to be on the PC screen and not live real life 24 hours a day.

When I made this post I had to take a break from mowing the lawn, the laundry, rotating of my tires and general weekly cleaning of the house.

The lock down was expected, but it was a matter of how many posts before it happened.

I do have one question…

At no time did I post any explicit, obscene or vulgar language in my post. As for X-rated, that’s for an individual to decide, but none was posted.

The newest moderator “edge” on this board has a personal grudge against me. I was fishing for him and caught him big time.

I just love this stuff.

  1. The words "limp **** MINI" are not appropriate in polite company for most people's vocabulary.
  2. Fact or fiction, you broke the guidelines anyway. And your post count doesn't make a darn difference. Since you did it to get attention, all it proves is that you have a careless disregard for the "rules" in the first place.
  3. I would have locked the thread in the exact same fashion regardless of WHO made it. It has absolutely nothing to do with who you are. You may not believe that, but it's the truth. The fact that so many other people posted "IB4TL" on the thread proves that point.
Please take your cynicism elsewhere.

As I said this individual has a personal grudge against me and this is only the first of many things he will call me on.

In before the lock!!!

Pat,
Your post was not obviously fictitious and therefore the thread would have been locked by any moderator. Edge happened upon it first. Given the violations that Edge pointed out, given your length of time on the site, you should also be aware that these violations normally result in a first strike. Additional violations or baiting of members on the site (including moderators) will result in a first strike warning.

I'm obviously new here and just getting to know folks, but your observation that people here need to get a real life, and spend too much time in front of a PC, when you have north of 10,000 posts here (do you frequent sites of other interest, too?) AND spent some time setting up your little prank, speaks volumes about your lawn needing more mowing...great source of fresh air and new perspective!

ya know.. i really cant believe what i just read.. first.. sandwave.. i didnt go to your site you posted, but i can just imagine.. to me it doesnt make a difference. i dont care what you posted, i dont care what it said, i dont care what reference it had to street racing, nudity, swearing, big deal. i say.. rock on! i think that the people on here should GROW UP! listen. if you are worried about people being upset by some of the things that people say in here, then dont Fing read it!! end of story!!.. "oh, they were talking about going 56 mph in a 55 zone, they should be thrown in jail" "lets kick them off" WTF! ya know, i thought the Mini was supposed to be a FUN car.. not an old stuffy POS, but that is what most of the people on this site portray it as. lets by the most fun car on the market and then turn around and be asoles about it! "yeah, my car is fun, but im a mean SOB"!? to the edge, or whoever you are.. first of all. someone who calls themselves the "edge" should be on the GD edge, not saying words like Darn. and i quote "it doesnt make a darn difference" it sounds to me that you are an 85 year old and on the EDGE of dying.. is that what you meant. live a little!! i really think that you would like it.. it is actually quite enjoyable and fun.. huh, kind of like your car.. what is it.. oh yeah.. a mini! strike one? lets make it three! everytime i come back here hoping that it has changed i get severely disapointed in everyone that is on here. there are a couple of great people in here that seem to be alot of fun, but for the most part they are just like the "edge".. dont do this, dont do that. come on! new mini forum.. www.peoplewhoarentdead.com that would have been alot worse, but i do respect some people.. some! but hey, the people that i do respect wouldnt care what i put down. ive been in a few discussions with people on here already about stuff like this, most opposing me, dont speed, dont do this, dont do that.. ive really had it. yeah, this site has helped me out, but honestly.... its not worth the hassle.. not worth the frustration of reading comments posted by darn idiots.. but, im sure i will be kicked off and this entire thread will be deleted.. but it made me feel so much better..!!

"peeling rubber shows signs of speeding and breaking the law"?? again, on the "edge" of death.. time for you to move to a retirement home in florida and buy yourself a nice continental.. what do you think? time for your medication yet gramps? does your walker have the JCW upgrade or is it stock? :(

Foster, it's quite simple. The site has guidelines. Guidelines I didn't write... but written by those who run the site. They have their reasons, very understandable ones, and I am just one person of many who is enforcing them. As for the legal one (#5), it talks about street racing and "excessive" speeding, not something as measly as 1 over, or 5 over, or...

Nor is the "strike" concept an invention of my own. This isn't my site, nor am I pretending it is.

If you don't like the guidelines, don't come here. If you don't like the "strike" concept (it's just a clear warning from the Administrators (not Moderators, big difference) that someone has clearly and blatantly broken the rules - if they do it again they are banned from the site), don't come here. Remember, I am only a Moderator, I do not have the power to issue a strike, so it wasn't my decision to do it.

For the record, I'm 31. You clearly have the wrong person if you are talking about "gramps". And your antagonisic post is not going to win you any favors here either. Again, go back to the guidelines, and check out #2.

We should all be striving to be constructive, not destructive. Just as in life, here on NAM you can catch a lot more flies with honey than you can with vinegar.

For all of you confused, I will clear this up. I got my first ticket all those many years ago about 4 days after getting my drivers license. My offense? Doing 20 mph. With my tires smoking. What did the PD call it? Exhibition of speed. You don't need to go over the speed limit to break the law. History lesson over. Back to your regularly scheduled bickering.

I concur.

However, is this the same Edge that called BS on me, also called me an *** and then deleted an equally "constructive" and "honeyed" comment several months ago on a JCW thread?

Glad to see you've turned over a new leaf!

"Calling BS" is hardly a personal insult. However, I did overreact with the "complete ***" line when you oversimplified my sense of measurable gain, and I regret that. I felt that a stock 05 MCS simply will not accelerate "just as well" as an 05 JCW, even with the rear sway, wheels & tires. That was why I called BS. To me, it was a ridiculous statement - and my response was not a slam on you, only on your statement.

(Keep in mind too, while we're on the subject, that 05 JCWs could be had with a variety of OEM wheels, from the factory. 16s and 17s... I myself had the web-spokes, while not "lightweight", are noticably lighter than the S-lites. Only the JCW needed to be dealer-installed.)

I do want to point out one thing - I was not a moderator back then (and I'm still not on that forum) so I was unable to delete anything, I could only edit my own posts... and the only time I did was once I realized I had somehow skipped over your amusing fish reference, since I was so caught up in the JCW stuff. I even apologized once I realized my mistake. (Post #55 in that thread)

Actually, other than the "once in a while" overreaction (hey, we're all human), I'm pretty much the same as before... but you don't know me well enough to realize that, I guess. The key is, when I screw up, and I realize I screw up, I have no problem apologizing, publicly. I just have to know I made the mistake first!

Obviously with a severe need to be the center of attention also.

I'll give you a 9 for great use of bait, but only a 1 for sportsmanship.
