Thought everyone would appreciate knowing that my MINI made it through a driving hail storm last night while returning home from a long interstate trip. The hail was pea sized and I was doing 60ish until visibility was terrible and I couldn't see the lane markers so I stopped on the shoulder for a minute or two. Believe me, I was afraid to look when I got home ... but, the finish was designed to withstand that size/type of hail at that speed. Whew!! So far only one ding in JoeGreen after 6 weeks and 3500 miles; somehow I got a small crease two inches above the headlight on top of the bonnet.

YIPEE - glad to hear no damage. Thanks for letting us all know the MINI is built to withstand a bit of hail. Living in Denver - I'm sure I'll experience my fair share.

JoeGreen is a 'he' .. no doubt in my mind although he was named before I met him. He's a tough one and all male!

Good to hear...I shudder when I think of Texas hailstorms since my MINI sleeps outside. Glad to know it can take a few dings or two. I swear, if a big hailstorm comes through, I'll spend the night in the mall covered parking garage if I have to to avoid dings....or maybe a car wash bay...hmmm...

I too had a harrowing Hail experience yesterday. Louie & I were almost home when the storm hit. I could hear & see the pea sized hail hitting the sunroof. We were sorely afraid. And like you, jds,I was looking for cover!!! Fortunately, when I got home Louie had nary a dent I don't look forward to the spring & summer hail storms we get in the Midwest

I went through a hail storm this weekend as well - pea sized. No damage that I can see but I haven't washed Felix yet. I think he's good though.
