Saw that. That bill is a bit much. Needs some love. Lots of the work $ is labor. But what do expect for a R53 that was poorly maintained and who lets their Mc40 get that bad.

I don't feel so bad NOW

I am just about finished with my MC40 build, AND I have just recently discovered the Cartrek trio which Hoovie is a part of on Youtube, so this one was even more enjoyable for me.

I payed more for mine than Hoovie did for his, and did all the work myself (see the thread here ) and I still came pretty close to his costs. I did have the front seats re-done and I had to buy a new right front wheel, which he did not do, but watching this made me feel like I made the right choice to rescue Monty.

Oof. That's a bit steep for an MC40 that's missing all of the MC40 bits.

Andres Pallares (El Paso) on Facebook has MC40 #874 for sale. Approx. 87,000 miles for $6,800. It has white hood stripes for some reason and no description of any fixes/upgrades. Looks to be in decent shape. PM him if interested.

Cheers to ECSTuning, I was able to buy some NOS R90 wheels to replace the ones on my MC40. It put quite the smile on my face to be able to replace those wheels.
I then placed an order to replace the rear tail lights with EOM Mini, just found out they are on backorder till September...

I have started the list whit my own cars and I have added the few VIN numbers that have been posted here in the Owners Club.

I am looking for known sequence number cars with VINs and build dates (found on the drivers door jam information plate)

I have tried to extract information from the MC40 web site (www.mc40.com) but since it is an older site very little information can be retrieved.

So with your help, we might be able to put together something that can help out members looking for the identity of their cars, thanks for your help.

Did this ever go anywhere? I'm sort of doing the same thing. What began as my search for my car's number, involved a conversation with a very nice gentleman in California who has been attempting to build a registry, but running into pushback. He sent me his list today, and I thought I'd start asking here, only to see you already have LOL. FYI, his list only reflects you with two, not three. I guess it dates to before your acquisition of #81.

Anyway, my poor mistreated and neglected MC40's VIN is TD90293, build date 6/28/2004. It was originally sold by MINI of Dallas, and now resides in Oklahoma City.

OK... all you wonderful MC40 owners here is the opportunity you have been waiting for. If for some reason you have lost or need to replace or just want to get a duplicate of your MC40 Commemorative Plaque ... NOW is the time you can get one.

I just recieved my very own replacement for my #81 MC40 and the Plaque is well made and extremely very close to the look and feel of the originals.

I can not say for sure but I don't know if he will be producing them for much longer, but if you want one or two, NOW is a great time to act.

I want to say that I saw that on the facebook group some time ago. I could see paying those kinds of prices if it was the original plate or if MINI USA was reproducing them. $200 for a reproduction is a little steep to me considering that you can easily transform a 3d printer into a laser engraver for around $60.

Here is my money pit... I mean MC40. Bought it last July, had troubles getting it registered properly, and then it sat in my garage all winter. It needed a new water pump and valve cover gasket, and also had stock springs installed. The springs it was on were far too low, it was practically undrivable on Wisconsin roads.

#693, and I've driven it maybe 69.3 miles since I bought it last year...

My new ride

Picked this up over the weekend. It has a number plate but not sure it's correct. Is the list still a thing?

.

MiniMania used to sell them.

They do indeed look nice!

They were made by a company called Caracalla 1947 as special commemorative editions I'd guess around 2013/2014 period because these 2 blurbs are around that time:

:

Company's website does not show them available,
don't freak out!

Sometimes they'll show up on ebay or whatever secondary market,
keep an eye out!
