New to me MC40

hi all,

i picked up an r53 a few weeks ago and then relaized it is an mc40. The decals, wheels, rally lights and number stamp have been removed unfortunatley.... was wondering how i can find out what number Mc40 my car is? I realize this is an old post figured it was worth a shot.

Really tough to find out. I know the MC40 package wasn't installed at the factory so it may not show up in a VIN lookup. Anybody here have any suggestions?

I think the solution is to look up the vin info and find out where it was originally sold. The dealership should have the info on file.

Congrats on getting a great car. I have not been able to determine any association between VIN and Plate number.

This worked for me. Contact the dealer where your car was imported to here in the US.

I believe the MC40 package was installed before they hit the dealership but after they came off the boat. They just grabbed CR/W R53's and swapped the stock seats and such for the MC40 bits. No MC40 officially came with a JCW package. That was added at the dealership after it was delivered.

Hello MC40 owners! Just wanted to post in here as we have just dismantled an MC40, car number 714. Did not have any of the exterior decals or the shift **** but it does have the number plate and the floor mats. The JCW dash is already sold. I have attached some pictures of the car in case anyone needs any MC40 parts. Let us know how we can help!

Too bad to see another one bite the dust. On the bright side, offers some NLA replacement parts, and narrows the field for the remaining MC40s.

How many miles were on it? Is the suspension any good?

Here are all the MC40 parts we have left. Numbered plaque is already sold.

Front seats: https://www.allmagautoparts.com/prod...r-mc40-r50-r53
The front seats had damage to the frame, so we separated the bottoms and backs from the seats as you can see in the pictures.

Rear seats: https://www.allmagautoparts.com/prod...ts-105-r50-r53

Floor mats: https://www.allmagautoparts.com/prod...et-106-r50-r53

#22 here, for some reason mine doesn't have the anthracite R90's it has just the silver ones unfortunately. When I get them redone I will go with the anthracite centers.

#72 is up for sale. Factory JCW kit, looks to be in great condition. I kinda want to bid on it and sell #22 to get that full JCW. Or maybe just keep both

Haha we can collect all the MC40s here to Ohio! Unfortunately, 22 is already up to 160k! But hey I bought it to drive it, not to keep it in the garage as much as I hate to see that odo keep moving up.

No worries... I'd love to get another. Since I sold 807 a few months ago I've been going crazy driving the auto R56S. It's just not the same!

Hey guys. I'm new to the forum and especially to this thread.
I am a new owner of the #263 that you guys mentioned just above.
It's got around 52,xxx miles on it, and the previous owner who happens to be a BMW mechanic did some gentle modifications to it.
Will post more detail photos if anyone's interested after giving my mc40 a wash.
