A year of happy motoring....

Well, I'm a few days late in posting, but last Tuesday, May 16th was one year of ownership for my 2005 DS/B MCS! I ordered the car March 28th of last year, and it was built April 13th. I ordered it with only the bare essentials needed for good motoring: Space cloth, 16" wheels, cold weather package, on-board computer, and F&R fogs. As it sits in my driveway, it currently has 21,920 miles, and we left the dealer with only 9 on the clock. It's been a great car, with absolutely NO problems, and lots of fun and enjoyment. Over the past few months I've added a few things to increase my motoring pleasure, including the Aero Grille, MB Motorsports/ A-TECH wheels, Hella 500 driving lights with OutMotoring brackets, One-ball exhaust mod, catch-can, and a magnetic number circle. I'm currently in the process of installing a sound system including an Alpine preout-only deck, MB Quart Reference components, Boston amps and a single Boston woofer. I'm putting together a second car to daily drive, and when I do I plan to add a few other goodies in the suspension and engine performance areas. I've included my most recent pic in my sig. A special thanks to everyone on hear who posts great advice, stories, ideas, and pictures. Enjoy!

Another post about problem-free motoring! I am glad that I am not the only one with a problem-free car. For a while there, I was wondering if I was the only one on NAM with a problem-free car. Glad to hear that you have had such a good experience.

Problem Free here, too

Just thought I'd share my 2005 Cooper has about 22k on her.
Picked her up Jan 15 last year.
Lots of winter motoring, one cross country trip, not a single problem.
Runs and looks like a dream.
Could not be happier!
Motor on.

A year and 1 month here

Well, I'm late in posting too....But I bought my 2002 MCS (drk silver of course) in April 2005...Few problems (the ole leaky radiator tank, rotted fresh air vents, replace front wiper motor, airbag light wiring harness) all replace under warranty...Car has 48.000 on the odometer now and is still under warranty..(expires in october). Still love this car and will probably keep it forever..(it is a first year and was exactly the car I was looking for)..
Motor on

NO problems on my 03' MCS, one time my drivers side window wouldn't go up/down, so I hit the door once with my fist (not too hard) and it hasn't gone out for a year, so I would consider my MCS and problem free MCS

Great to hear. thanks for sharing.

Out of curiousity, did you all custom order your mini's or where they just bought from the dealer based on what was available?

I ordered my MCS as stated above, mostly because the dealer had a lot of other cars in stock that had way more options than what I was interested in having. I also didn't mind the 6.5 week wait since I was able to borrow a vehicle from my in-laws since I sold both of my Honda Civics(a 2002 Si and a 2000 CX) to buy this car. I forgot to mention, mine has auto A/C controls also! Thanks again, fellow motorers!

My 2005 MC is a year old and the only problem I have had is that the interior dome light bulb burned out. I didn't know if it was burned out or I did something to turn it off and didn't know how to turn it back on . So, in other words, 1 year and no problems!!!

Congrats on year one problem free, gstockmini!!!

Out of curiousity, did you check to see if the bulb was in fact burned out? Something like a burned out bulb would drive me nuts not knowing if it was truly burned out or not. But then, I have been known to be a bit obsessive about my cars.

Even if it was a burned out bulb, that doesn't really count as a problem - welcome aboard the problem-free train!

Mine was custom ordered, Acitydweller.
Spent about a month messing around with the Web-site building my specs..than minutes at the dealer ordering.
Wasn't likely finding one just the way I wanted on a lot.
Didn't mind the wait, much.
Gave me time to sell my old car and I got an IPOD Mini (to go with my MINI)
Passed time loading playlists and learning how to work it.
Now we just motor on!

Cool MGA

Donna/Mike, forgot to mention I am way jealous of the MGA in your gallery.
We had a few growing up and a couple Austin Healeys, too.
Great old classics!
Motor on.
