Options Questions (Newbie)

We dont' have a MINI dealer where we live. But it looks like we're going to be purchasing one in the next few months. We'll be using it as a daily driver and autocross car. But I've got a couple of questions that I haven't been able to answer via MINI USA's website.

Does a base MINI Cooper S come standard with:

Tilt wheel?
Driving lights? (fog lights are extra...right?)
Intermittent wipers?
Cruise? (do you get cruise with the upgraded wheel with cruise controls on it?)
Power mirrors?
Rear wiper?
Rear window defroster?

Couple of other questions:

Are the xenon headlamps more attractive/stylish than the standard units? (trying to decide it they are worth it)

Does the new Digital POWER Sound Modul take up any storage space? (we don't want an aftermarket for theft reasons)

Thanks!

The Multi-function steering wheel, (MFSW), gets you cruise control and buttons to control the stereo. Fog lights, front and/or rear, are optional, as are driving lights. I don't have the Xenon lights and my halogen lights are fine. Most people who have them say there're great though.

Don't know anything about the Digital sound module you mentioned.

Have fun shopping for your new MINI.

Tilt Wheel is standard
Driving Lights are dealer installed, foglights (front and rear) are separate factory options
Intermittent Wipers are standard, rain sensing intermittent wipers are part of the Convenience Pkg and they are VERY nice to have
Cruise control comes only with the multi function steeting wheel. You get radio controls also.
Power Mirrors, rear wiper and rear defog are all standard.

The Xenon lights look fine to me. They are very bright and throw an excellent beam pattern once they are properly aimed. (Mine weren't, but easily fixed)

I don't know what a Digital Sound Power module is, but both the standard radio and the Harman-Karden have all amps and brain boxes hidden.

Unless you live in the Florida Keys, get the heated seats...$300 well spent!

There is nothing like getting in your car late at night and while you hear that mighty engine / exhaust come to life, you see the Xenons out front scan their gaze high and low while getting balanced. Sort of like an animal examining its terrain before pouncing.....

WOW, thats an excellent description (except for the "might engine part") How about the "Burbling exhaust" from the itty bitty four banger A mighty roar ... hunting zebras at night ...

Thanks for all the replies! What a great online community!

The only option we're still on the fence about it the Digital POWER Modul (upgraded audio system). It's $1650, so you could make a very good arguement for going with an aftermarket system instead. But I do like the theft deteriant that a OEM system provides.

Does anyone have experience with it? We did a search and only found one post from a guy who said it sounds way better than the Harman Karden system. But since we're going to autocross it, we're wondering how much weight it will add? (hopefully only a couple of pounds)

Sounds like some kind of massive dealer profit item to me. I wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole.
