how flat can they go?

an odd question...

if you pull the front seats all the way forward and pump them all the way up, how far can they recline backwards? Will they almost lay flat on the rear seats?

Sorry, not a chance. I don't see any way you could sleep in your MINI. I am 6'3" and I would not even try.

Sorry, not a chance. It is FAR from flat. I don't see any way you could sleep in your MINI. I am 6'3" and I would not even try.

Do you have a tent, sleeping bags? I know that you will fly in but you could UPS it to the area and use it on the trek home. I would be happy to let you ship a package here and bring it to you when you get in.

Just a thought.

ha.. you're one step ahead of me!

i'm trying to avoid tenting due to cold temperatures and extra stuff (ie sleeping bags, tent, etc, etc) to pack.

I get good rates on hotels being an Expedia.com employee, but it's just a matter of being in a spot where it's just easier to snooze for a few hours (again, defeating the purpose of a tent)

guess i should've bought a caddy...

EDIT: or the A**tek with it's extendo tent/canopy thing! HAHAHAHAHAHA....

If you are trying to sleep in the car then get one of these and put it on the open glove compartment door:

I took a nap in the driver's seat (kid in passenger) on the way home from AMVIV...probably couldn't have done it all night tho. Oh yeah, I'm 5'1" so I'm sure that helped!

Well I just got in for the night but if you want I'll snap a photo of this so you know what they look like.

On the sleeping note I just drove from FL to Chicago and had to stop a few times to rest (hadn't slept in the past three days then decide to go for 1300 mile drive) I stopped at a few rest stops and did a couple 10 min cat naps to get me through the first night, I did make one last stop at a Middle school parking lot in the early phase of sunrise and got an hours worth of refreshing sleep in the driver seat with the seat back straight up. I had the rest of the MINI packed to the gills so there was no chance of reclining, quality of sleep wasn't bad ethier even manged a short dream. So you may be able to pull it off just yet. (I'm 6'1")

Obnxs has a point, really should be bringing a SO on this one, but thats another thread.

a pic would be great

a SO...??

the one advantage I'll have is having another driver in the car. so we could theoretically just keep on driving through the night while trading off sleep... could get us through some long distances in order to spend a little more walking around time at places like devils tower and mount rushmore...
