I had a great time, I thought I would add to the flood of pictures coming in from attendees.

My only request? Make the Valley of Fire run super-early, as in we get there at sunrise early. Then I think more people with a long drive would be able to attend... I almost did it this year but that would have left me a little too late coming back to Denver.

Where you positioned the caption for the roaming gnome, I at first thought you were referring to the photo ABOVE the caption. Would that be a good term of endearment for Wickes?

That was right before the Mt. Charleston Drive IIRC. The photos I took up there came out nicely.

 

The gnome rocks!! I found one that looks very similar at Rite-Aid a while back, and gave it to my parents as a "gift". They love those silly Travelocity commercials!

 

 

If you go to the travelocity web site, you'll see a small link at the bottom of the page for "The Gnome Store". You can buy many forms of Gnome there, from large statues (which I used in the MINI shots) to a smaller "squishy" Gnome, to magnets and air fresheners. You might like one of those as a gift.

We also are quite fond of the Gnome so we have him in several forms.

 

I was hoping the owner of the car would see that! I thought it was kind of cool with the flames.

 

I actually took a LOT of shots of that car - for some reason it was just really striking at night.

They were mostly all the same shot though as I tried out different lighting, that was the best one. If you want a larger versions of it you can use the links at the bottom of the image to download the original size as well.
