After 2 and a half years of monogamistic bliss, Red Sonja has found a new home
I'm borrowing my mom's Navigator for the moment while I iron out my next purchase, and it's like stepping into the ice age. Yeah, it's more comfortable when I'm driving around and who doesn't like V8 grunt, but JEEZ I hate turning
Parking is a mess, I'm terrified the car's going to get stolen (my neighborhood is a bit
- you might have heard of it, Watts? South Central?) and I don't have fun driving it - EVER. Still a great car, but that's not the point
Point is, I miss my baby already... She was so much fun every day, and all of the quirks and problems were not that big of a deal now that I'm looking back at them. Yeah, I can go over potholes now, but WHO CARES! The MINI was so much more than a simple car, it was like a pet, or a girlfriend who didn't mind me getting a little action on the side! If I was having a bad night all I had to do was chill with Sonja on a canyon road (she got to know Corral Canyon VERY well) and life was good again.
Driving the MINI was everything I hoped it would be when I got the car, and leaving is tough. Fortunately, she went to a good home. I'll still honk and wave when I see a MINI on the road. I'll still be around to reminisce, but I've taken another road for now.
So if you're in LA and somebody honks at you but waves too, don't be confused - I'm just enjoying seeing another person enjoying their car
And, thinking about it, I'll never forget the first test-drive I had in a MINI. It was in a EB/B MCS with a carbon fiber spoiler at Crevier MINI. We went to a sweeper and the dealer just kept saying "You can go faster... come on, go faster!"
Sometimes a car is just right.

people never really understand until they own a MINI. from the outside it looks like a sick and demented obsession with an inanimate object.
but from the inside it is just simply: normal.
good luck in the future (you are going to be purchasing a new one, right?)

A Navigator? A Navigator. Ugh... OH THE HUMANITY!!! (picturing the Hindenburg going down in flames in Lakehurst, NJ).
I hope you come to your senses and acquire another MINI and quickly.

note that he is only using it out of necessity

I think I'd rather walk though. ;-)
He did indeed say borrowing and was driving a MINI so that person is okay in my eyes (despite the current setback). :-)
