Adjustable Washer Jets

I'm relatively new to the MINI neighborhood, but I've not seen this before in a car. When I bought my MINI (02 MC CR), two of the four windshield washer jets sprayed off to each side of the windshield. Upon closer inpection I found that the jets are actually in adjustable sockets, which you can basically aim (this might be handy for those pesky aggressive drivers) (Hmmm . . . maybe not.)

Anyway, later - being very careful not to clog or otherwise mutilate the jets, I was able to use a straight pin to aim the jets where they should go.

Alas, the back washer jet is not adjustable - Now that would really be cool.

Anyone else notice this or have I just lobotomized my washer sys. Still works well (better in fact).

The windshield washer jets of most cars are adjustable to some degree, I think.

As for the rear jet, it is adjustable at least on the 2002-2004 models. The jet is turned, using a coin or screwdriver. Rotate it far enough and you can spray other cars with it as you pass them . Later cars have a different type of nozzle and I don't know if it is adjustable or not.

I've been told it may have something to do with the fuel system (like the tank pressurizing, etc...).

I am not making this up...hopefully!
This is just Spridle and Chim-Chim asking for you to turn on the heater. Just toss a ham sandwitch or something back there and they'll shut up. Just for pity's sake, NEVER LET THEM OUT OF THE TRUNK, lest this happen to you:

On my '06 w/o rain sensing wipers, the rear glass wiper wipes every 10 seconds when on by itself, and once every three wipes of the windshield wipers when they're both on (note this 1:3 ratio = constant wiping of the rear wiper when the windshield wipers are on high).

I need help! I am getting a MCSC. Can anyone tell me if skis and/or a snowboard can fit via the trunk with the back seats down? I am 5'7" and I either have to buy new ski ir snowboard equipement and I am pretty much going to make that decision according to what can fit via the trunk.

thanks,
cherise

What are the cut-outs and foam for, in the rear section adjacent to the floor of the boot area? Air circulation?

Cutouts, Air circulation, Foam noise deaddening, its been awhile since I've had the foam in there, and I've even hidden the holes without issue.

Sorry I don't know the exact answer to your question, but here's an option for you to consider:

MINI FINI Ski/Snowboard Carrier

The system is a little pricey, but expandable/versatile and pretty nice overall.

Oh, lest you get someone confused, the MINI doesn't have a trunk - it has a boot!

I have done this, it really is true!!!!

I didn't know that this would be the only car that I'm still in love with two years later. I also didn't know that I could become attached to any car as much as I am this one. You can't pry my hands off of it!

If you look in the lower drivers side windshield you will notice that your VIN number is displayed.

I found this out after 2 months. On the MFSW stero control, if you press the up arrow you advance tracks on the CD (knew that), but if you press and hold the up arrow, you can fast forward. Holding the down arrow is reverse.

It has a similar function for the radio as well. If you press up or down, it goes to the next or previous preset. But if you press and hold, it will scan the radio frequency for the next station.

If you (God forbid) don't lock your MINI; when you return if you go to "unlock" your car with the keyfob (which you don't realize is already unlocked), the ceiling light comes on at any rate.

Ah, thank you - I didn't qualify it by saying it worked on a car ('06) w/o rain sensing wipers. Original post edited.

wow, can't wait to verify this as that was one of my "nags" about the mfsw.

presets are great, but having the scan on the wheel too rocks.

i luv this thread!

I don't know what space is sacrificed with the convertible, but a 160 snowboard JUST fits in my MCS. It goes all the way from the very back to just about where the gearshift rests if it's in 4th gear.

I'd say you could fit 2 (in boardbags of course!) up the middle, but only in an emergency snowboard session

Keep in mind that was how a 160 fit. Usually skis are much longer!
