Tap wiper stalk down quickly and wipers swipe once slowly, hold wiper stalk down a little longer and the wipers will swipe FAST once! Found this out on the way home today from work.

Get a new/charge the battery in the 2nd key, then that ones range will increase

Leave the door open and turn the key around backwards. Put the part that attaches to the key chain close to the switch. Mine dings when I do that.

None of this worked for me. I guess I'll have to ask the dealer to program it for me. And they will do for me no charge because _no one_ ever mentioned I had programming options during the entire process of ordering/buying the car.

The new key, the one that has never been used in the 17 months I own the car, is the one that worked from twice the distance. Doesn't make sense to me, either.

Your service advisor can program a ton of stuff into your key. The "window/ sunroof remote open" and "door lock window/ sunroof closure" functions are just a few examples.

Something new

I found a new trick that MINIs can perform.

They give us non-MINI owners the insatiable desire to work more hours, save every penny and read every forum in the hope that maybe one day i'll have a MINI of my own.

Until then, happy motoring everyone!

I have experienced that too and I was sort of bummed about it. However, SOMEtimes (I was baffled by this) they seem to work just fine with the motor off and the radio on. I think it's related to atmospheric pressure somehow.

Welcome to the way I spent some of '03 and all of '04. If you end up with a turbo, there's a good chance that I won't want to hear about it!

Have Fun,
Tatt

Hey JCWDriver: I picked up my new MCC yesterday after 6 weeks of surfing NAM. You mentioned "programming the key". Are you saying my personal preferences for programmable options key sensitive? I've discovered key #2 doesn't perform at all and I thought maybe that was because it was not charged up yet. Your comment makes me think that options are key sensitive. Can this be true?

Does this have to be done by the dealer or is there a cheat for it?
