MINIs : Cop Attracters or Repellers?

Man, I'm bored today. Anybody got an idea? Something scientific would be awesome with numbers and graphs too.

I've found MINI loaners to be cop attracters.

I think anything that's small and unsedan shaped is likely to attract cops...blame it on the crx's and si's of the 90s causing a raucous.

wait you wanted scientific

Let
A = cop attractibility index
BHP = well you know
W = wheelbase(in meters)
L = Total Vehicle Length(in meters)
D = Number of doors
B = Number of bonnet and boot stripes
E = Number of exhaust exit points

A = ((BHP/(W/L)*D)^B) + E

there that looks good to me.

Why would the number of doors increase the cop attractability index??

Forgot a set of parenthesis I'd say:

A = ((BHP/(W*D))^B) + E

Why? because all the fastest cars have only 2 doors(excluding boot) or less, so as the number of doors increases attractiblity decreases.

And all my parenthesis are accounted for thank you amg. What fun are the little numbers that will result from your added parenthesis.

Your logic is correct, but your math isn't. Even after your edit. A 4 door is more attractice than a 2 door when everything is held constant. D needs to be within the denominator, which at this point, it is not. I don't know why this matters that much though...

It is in in the denominator, according to most of the world's accepted order of operators multiplication is done before division. So W/L is multiplied by D before BHP is divided by the whole shebang.

I've always learned it as + and - are in the same order and X and / are in the same order as well. What do I know, I'm only a math major. Try it in excel and see.

No they are equal in their level of preference. So if a divison is physically before a multiplication the division is done first.

Yeah that's how they first teach you, but if you put 5*8/4 in calculator or excel you'll get 10, something has to take precedence. It's ok though that equation is crap, data is not manageable(read can't create a pretty chart).

It doesn't blend in that draws attention, therefore you stand out, cops will notice you more than SUVs, and Camrys and F-150s. SO you must behave when on the road or you'll pay the price. If your worried about the PD nabbing you for speeding then go to a track or Autocross. And pick up a radar detector in case your foot is elemental Pb. You'll attract attention for cops but also from the niegborhood kids and car gurus. Bottom line you draw attention in a MINI and not all is good.
This is mentioned in the camoflague section here: http://www.missionminiusa.com

I stand corrected, you are absolutely right. I have no idea what I was thinking. Let me pull my head out of my ***. Must be the distraction of knowing I'll be ordering in only a few short weeks. I really was wondering how I kept getting such huge numbers. Thank you gentlemen(or ladies) for straightening me out. Now I have to get back to deciding what kind of stripes to get and messing with photoshop.

Don't worry about it. Mistakes happen.

You might want to rethink the stripes. Stripes increase your cop attraction index exponentially...

I have forwarded this question to my younger brother who is a cop in the city of Milwaukee. I asked him what kind of car is a cop attractor if the MINI necessarily isn't.
When and if he responds, I'll post it here.
I think I asked him once before on this, especially with that nonsense of "red sports cars" being more attractors and he gave me a response while rolling his eyes, but I don't remeber now what it was.
Basically, I think it's like Koopah said, if you chirp your tires taking off at the light, tailgate, and act like you've been trained in high speed pursuit when you haven't, they're going to get real curious about you in a hurry.
