More Inconsiderate People Who Can't Park

Ok, so it's Christmas day. I decide to go see King Kong---it was sold out--couldn't believe how many people go watch movies when everything else is closed.

I chose a spot far away from everyone--and against a curb--pulling closer to it as usual. I come out 2 hours later and find this.

Is it really too much to ask to park between the friggin lines???

So I whipped out my MINI Motoring Citations, filled out the info, and left it on their windshield.

Merry Christmas!

What is the water trail leading from the back of the MINI to under the minivan and back? You didn't decide to leave more than a ticket there at the parking spot for them, did you?

They were in the middle of a magazine at my dentists office. Don't remember which one--it was part of an advertisement.

Can't be GASOLINE, it's still a liquid. Nobody would go to that much trouble and be able to resist ignition...

this reminds me, I keep meaning to make up little cards to leave on peoples cars when they park like jerk-offs. People like that deserve little evil notes.
I went to the library once, there were 4 cars in the parking lot but to be safe I still parked like 20 spaces down. I was inside less than an hour when I walked outside to see that 2 of the 4 cars were gone and there wer 2 new cars parked on both sides of my MINI! Arggghhhh...I hate people sometimes.

I never park anywhere but in the nose bleed or walk a mile section and have never come across this problem.
Ever!

That's great, Octane. I see too many people parking like this all the time. Not just near my car but by anyones vehicle. You want to start a site where we can send pictures in of stupid parking and leave them a citation letting them know the site their vehicle is now on?

Not sure if I'm violating any trademarks here, but in case anyone's wondering what the citations look like, it's here:

To find out about "the tickets" sources.
I would have done something different...

They're available from the MINI USA site. Go to http://www.miniusa.com and click on the "Motor On" tab at the top right of the page. The Motoring Citation should be at the top of the list.

Octane Guy, that's about par for the course from a minivan driver....

I avoid malls like the plague during the holiday season. Which naturally means I had to go to one today. One side of the parking row was regular parking. The other side was marked "COMPACT". I am sure to no one's surprise the compact row was filled with Hummers, Escalades and Navigators. And at this mall compact means just that. Made me wish I had one of the glass markers. Because I would love to know which part of the friggin Hummer is compact.

I have a confession to make.

If I ever drive one of my parents vehicles (Chrystler Voyager/Caravan, Honda Civic), I always try to find a MINI to park next to. Those occasions are rare, as I drive the MINI everywhere.

However, I park properly, with plenty space between both lines.

Ahhh the compact car spot. The local library has a bunch of them and I always use them since I have a Mini, the very definition of a compact car, and almost every time I there is at lease one minivan parked in one of the other spots.

One day I walked out as a guy was getting out of his minivan and I said "you know they tow people who don't follow the rules." He asked what I meant so I said "a minivan is not compact, or a car." he told me to mind my own business, only not quite so nice. Then a tow truck drove by and he got back in and moved his minivan. I cracked up, there was no way a tow truck could have pulled that van out of the spot it was way too tight a space for a tow truck Thank goodness most people are not very smart.

This always happens to me, it is so aggravating. I will park at the farthest ends of any given parking lot, and when I return to my MINI there are HUGE vehicles parked on both sides of me, even if there are plenty of (closer) parking spots empty. I park far away for a reason!

I know my MINI has a magnetic personality that attracts others, but this has happened far too many times for me to believe it is coincidence.

Good One Richard,

I hope the movie was good, by the look of the parking job, I think the Ape drives a van....

I do not refer to vans as mini vans.... btw..

The Unofficial Motoring Citation

Okay all...I created an "Unofficial Motoring Citation" for those times when the friendly isn't quite what you had in mind.....it's a bigger download, so you'll have to get it from here (about 3.5 megs):

http://hoopi.org/Motoring_Citation_UnOfficial.pdf

Enjoy!
