I've had problems, but none in a long time

We all seem to have had one or many issues with our MINI'S
Some are small, some are big.

What I want this thread to look at is long term MINI owners, with MINI's getting long in the chin, and still motoring strong.

I'll start, I had lots of small things go wrong, not going to list them, but if it was mentioned here on NAM, I had the issue with my MINI.
I hung in there, now have close to 70k miles, and have not had one issue in 40k miles.

I think the cars were pushed out to fast, so some things got over looked on the line. Plus some parts were not ready for real winter.

So far, for me anyway, all the fixes have worked. I now know what to watch for, but nothing has reocurred.

The little guy feels very strong, and is a pleasure to motor, even in the cold and snow.

I know there are MINIs with way over 100k miles on them, I plan on keeping mine way past that

There is a guy in my local MINI club who has over 120k miles and has never had a major problem! He really "drives" his car too!

I don't drive my MINI real hard, but WOT does happen from time to time. Hitting bounce is always intense.

I take good care of my car, and love using it for what it is designed to do.
Out handle most anything out there, not be a dragster, but keep up and enjoy doing it.

Plus I motor through some extreme weather, and this little car is proving, now in it's 3rd winter, to be the best winter car I have owned.
125 is do able

I drive my 03 MCS Hard and have had problems in the past but the dealer fixed them No problem with MODS either.

I have a long list of mods from pully to short antenna and a lot in between.

I have over 74,000 and still going strong.

Interesting.... If Mini made the exact same car every time off the line like a Honda, I think there would probably be no little creaks in the dash etc.. With Mini offering so many choices/different parts used to build their unique cars, there seems to be a higher likelihood that not every car will come out perfect. KFC does chicken right...but that's all they do..only makes sense right?

I agree with you, all I was saying is some things got past the last check at the factory, and , at least for me have been fixed by the dealer.
This car by far is more rattle free than many I have been in.

It also is the best starting, never stumbles, and does not know how to yo-yo.
I'm willing to let this car show me it has real legs, and I plan on enjoying every mile

Lets talk about high mileage MINIs here, not talk chickens

I'm up over 75,000 on a lightly modded 2002 and even tho I've had some niggling problems, nothing has stopped me from motoring. I believe there were some minor basic design flaws - the strut tower problems, and very much in the various rattle problems, especially the dash related ones, and were part of the never-fly-the-A-model lessons learned. I didn't have any of the serious, car-killing mechanical failures or events that I've read about, but I have had some ongoing problems with the window regulators, a common one on BMWs it seems, and even tho I replaced one windshield, with a questionable crack, the replacement now is quite "fogged" in direct sunlight or oncoming headlights, so I'm figuring another one soon enough. The car starts right up, drives as advertised, (actually better) and overall, I've never had a more fun experience with a car, and much of this has been due to all the hard-core MINI folks I've met over the past 3+ years.
