Super-Hot MINI

This week's Autoweek has a nice write-up on the new "Stripped John Cooper Works-tuned GP Drops Weight and Gains Power" limited edition MINI. Worth a look-see. Autoweek on news stands near you.

JCW adds an intercooler and "other engine modifications" which take the hp up to 218 with the torque remaining the same. They dumped the rear seat, sound deadening material and aluminum control arms in placed of the standard steel arms, light weight 18 inch alloy wheels along with a few other things, probably.

Looks nice with its special metalic silver paint, but I think the rear wing looks "ricy", and the contrasting red mirrors (?). Geezzzz.

Only 2,000 will be offered for sale - Get your order in NOW!

::yawn:: I'll wake up when JCW actually does something cool. Anyone who hasn't, check out the photos of the JCW head in the Drivetrain forum. It's pathetic.

Huh? Search for the threads on the "limited lightweight" MCS GP. There was a whole lotta buzz and it looked like it might be carbon fiber and uber-cool and then it turned out to be a real big gas. It's sad, really.

To be honest, I was disappointed as well. Seems that with some aftermarket goodies you could go beyond the 218 hp anyway, and since you don't "feel" horsepower but torque... ah.... hmmmm... another tread for another time...

Some how i dont think a "super hot mini" would have large gaudy chrome surrounds around the foglights like the pic you attached. "super hot" tends to mean it looks cool and sporty rather than bright and flashy.

Different strokes for different folks............

Hmmm I thought I read somewhere, "Nothing funnier than adults who have sunken to the level of children by teasing and flaming online". Let me go check where

And i would consider myself a child still considering my age .

And anyways, there is a difference between flaming and sharing your opinion about how something looks.

Me too! I've even put decals on my car! Haven't done that in a few (to many) years

Agree, but then the author of that post (Byron) didn't ask for opinions about his car; only photo's of the GP. All is good since you were only sharing and not flaming, care to post some pics of your car so others might share?
