My first 350 miles were all city driving. I got 18.5 mpg on the first tank and a half. When I filled up, the computer told me I had 290 miles until empty.

I just drove that tank 195 miles to Boston, 6th gear all the way. 90 miles into the trip, the range computer said 310 miles until empty!

My computed mpg is up to 28. I'm going to try to head home today on the rest of the tank.

it's like their getting stronger

--Everyone told me my MINI would get better and better gas mileage. I started out with just 20.6 miles per gallon. Today I had about 150 miles on my current tank and closing in on half tank. My range said I had 140miles left. I took a jaunt around the island and went about 50 miles. When I parked the range said I had 145 miles left. Woohoo! I wish. It's nice to know my computer is optimistic. So long as it's gas gauge is REALISTIC I'll be okay.

I typically do mostly city driving as well and typically get 24-ish MPG on a tank according to the computer. Last week I did a fairly long-distance drive from Austin to Dallas (my longest distance drive yet in the MINI) and the average for that tank was around 35MPG!!! wooohoo

BTW, I, too, noticed my estimage range went UP for the first 3/4 of the trip until it got to nearly 400 miles before finally starting to head down again

When I filled up next, I had traveled 336 miles on 12.12 gallons = 27.72 mpg. The OBC was saying I was getting 28.0 mpg. Not bad considering I was doing 75+ most of the way and it was very windy.

BTW, in case anyone is wondering, I have an '06 MCS with stick and did the whole drive on cruise at around 75MPH with the windows up and the roof closed (optimal aerodynamics).
