I have the H/K stereo in my Mini and was wondering if anyone has found the amp.
The reason I'm asking is, does the amp have a gain on it?

Amp should be in the passenger side cubby hole in the boot.

FYI - I'll post this one more time:
From AskMINI
Hi Charles!

I found the information regarding the Harmon Kardon sound system that you requested. The Harmon Kardon has a total of eight speakers:
o Two Front Tweeters
o Two Front Loudspeakers
o 2x2 Rear Loudspeakers
The total system power is 320 watts and it utilizes an external audio amplifier located in the right rear cargo area.

I hope this helps! Let us know if you have any more questions.

LET'S MOTOR.

why do you want to adjust the gain? I'm guessing you'll want to turn it up, however this will only decrease your signal to noise ratio and increase distortion. If you're turning your head-unit all the way up and it's still not loud enough, you'll have to resort to a higher-powered aftermarket install. The OEM Audio team has designed the system to run with a fixed gain, and messing with that will only screw it up. Since it's an OEM system, there won't be an adjustable amplifier gain.
