For those of you with Schroth harnesses or other brands, do you wear them while driving around on the street at all? Or just at the track. I was impressed by the Schroth videos they include with each order, and the fact that they appear much more safe when in an accident... reducing injury to myself.

I admit I do feel a little silly wearing my harnesses going to LA in traffic going about 30 mph.
But I bought them and I love them!! (Track or Street)

Nope, wearing harnesses for fun gets old pretty quick. Its hard to turn your head/shoulders making it difficult to do anything when you're stopped.Originally Posted by stylin99

Since they clip in and out so quickly, I just put them in when I expect to need them. I do have a set of CG-Locks that I intended to install for daily driving when a twisty road comes along, but haven't even gotten around to installing them in over a year. . . boy am I lazy!
Check all local and state laws. Wearing a racing harness on the street is illegal in most locations.

In the case of a roll over, the harness will not allow your body to move forward thus the probability of snapping your neck is rather high. With that in mind, I'd vote no.
This roll over issue is why alot of people won't run a harness without a proper roll cage. Check out some auto-x and HDPE sites for s and g's
Whew, glad I got a post in this month.

I usually wear my harness in the canyons as well as track/autox . Normaly around town I dont. I beleive it is illegal in CA but so are a few other things on the car

I'm even too lazy to list my pair of new CG Locks in marketplace! Originally Posted by chrisnl

No question that it would be more convenient but I just feel a lot more comfortable with the 5 point . It also helps to keep me more firmly planted in the seat during " spirited " driving.

Andrew -- You sure are lazy! I find the CG Lock solution works very well and use them daily -- street and otherwise. I've had them on since the Dragon 1.5 yrs ago. TomOriginally Posted by YuccaPatrol
