Purple Haze - Chick or Unisex?

Opinions please...

I thought I was set on Hyper Blue but the Purple Haze color keeps popping in my head. In my opinion its a dark enough purple to look less like a chick color and more like an all around awesome color. The metallic paint adds a lot to the color for sure.

What do you think, chick color or unisex color?

Matt

I think it's a great Mardi Gras color, Matt! If YOU like it, go for it! What does wifey think?

I say it's going to be your MINI, so yours is the only opinion that counts. If you like it-go for it. Besides, it's not the color or the car that makes the man, (or the woman), it's the other way around.

Purple Haze?
Depends on the lighting.
In the day it's more unisex.

At night it looks more aggressive to me

A lighter shade of purple might be more feminine but PH is pretty dark.

I think it depends some on the car model... a PH/W MC CVT might be closer to chick-ish on the scale, especially with flower-power stickers .... but an all-PH MCS on the other hand would look very agressive.. especially with the aero kit. Actually, even for the MC I think the aero kit would make the difference.

Here is a PH on ebay that I think looks VERY nice. I really like the bonnet stripes on this car

I'm thinking as a guy, if you have to ask this question, you need a whole different color to begin with.

There are no "chick" colors for MINIs. If PH bothers you as a "chick color" go with something else.

I too had the same thought The orginal post, I mean.

Of all the MINI colors, it seems the one that is most susceptible to changes in the light.

I think I've seen a couple on the road, but don't think I've seen any with a white or black roof. On the MINI website, they look pretty sharp with the white roof, but I'm thinking more along the black option.

Has anybody seen (or have) a PH/B? Is the black a nice contrast, or is it hard to tell that there's 2 different colors?

Why is it whenever I post asking for opinions someone always chimes in with, "your opinion is all that should count." To these people I gotta ask, have yoiu never asked someone for their opinion on a product? It doesn't mean you will go with what they tell you. 9 times out of 10 you'll incorporate it into your thoughts to further your decision along.

Clo, the wife liked the purple haze.

Onasled, thanks for that ebay link. Lots of pics from different angles there which show how the color changes. I'm thinking a PH/B with 20% tint would look pretty hot.

I'll keep you all informed. Thanks again.

I just saw a PH MINI in direct sunlight. That's the litmus test. If you like it in direct sunlight you should buy it. It changes colors dramatically between in-direct and direct light. It is very very purple.

If you were a Vikings fan...

Chick Colors

Actually there are chick colors. Anything Bond wouldn't drive is a chick color. Yellow, Purple Haze are marketed for women. Silver is classic

Put some silver or white racing stripes on the bonnet. No one will mistake it for a "chick" car then.

Being a very secure male, I say Purple Haze ROCKS!!

I don't see it as a "chick" color at all.

Go with some black stripes and tinted windows for an aggressive look. The darker stripes are better on lighter colors, but with some pinstriping on either side they should look alright. I don't think it's a chick color. One reviewer of the Mini I read called the car 'malevolent' looking in purple. It's probably one of the rarer colors, and that may be desireable.

Yellow is definitely not a chick color particularly with the black stripes. I didn't go for that color, but the picks I've seen on this sight are of some sharp cars.

Thanks for the additional comments. Definitely going to rethink my color choice.

Oh and sndwave...next season my friend, next season. Don't ask me why or how but I really feel like next season the Saints will go deep into the playoffs. Who's your team?

i will be the first to defend the mini as a male/female car (believe me i have to once a week), but PURPLE...sorry dude but 9 out of 10 people will think it is a female's car. i would not be caught dead in a purple mini. believe me i am VERY open minded and i even drive a PW/B mini. but come on man purple is still purple.

If you've already ordered don't think to long.

I have not seen one in person yet,so I can't really comment, get what you like after getting all the feed back you can, just don't get a BRG,they are bad news, the colour changes all the time in different light, they go faster, and don't look to bad when dirty

I think PH/B with black bonnet stripes with white or silver edges would be a seriously tough and awesome combo, Matt. Add some anthracite rims and it would be muy macho!

I happen to see purple as a unisex color, but I'm an artist, so my view is not mainstream to begin with!

I agree with MINIclo. It's unisex, but if you add more black and choose some nasty rims, no one will think it's a chick car, it'd be a beast.

Pat Buchanan may accuse you of being as gay as a Teletubby but I say go for it. Purple is a cool color.
