Saw the Royal Gray today..........

I just happend to see a Royal Gray MC today and well............not really liking it. The first time I saw it was around Dusk and it didn't look good, so I took a look in the Sun light and it didn't get any better It is more brown than gray . If you've seen BMW's Sterling Gray it looks like that but a shade darker and has more brown. I was really expecting a grayish blue not a brown. But thats just my .02................Dark Silver is much better in my opinion.

I was thinking that it would be akin to Sterling, like the Dark Silver is similar in tone to the Steel Grey.

I just saw it myself, and while i feel it is a warm grey as opposed to a cool grey, it is in no way brown.

Rather than going the unpleasant brown direction, to me it almost has hints of bronze. Clear as mud?

Thanks, I think it looks awesome! I was hoping for a really dark sinister look. Mine will be all body colored, no stripes, and I have waiting a set of Flik Wasps with anthracite centers. I'm guessing by the pictures that it's quite a bit darker than Dark Silver?

It was too brown for me...I passed on one here and ordered instead. Saved the "high gloss" $'s and added the Harman Kardon, but that's just me. I am sure other's will like it just fine.

There are two right now at Downtown MINI in Orlando.

Don't get me wrong, the color is very much NOT black but it quite a bit darker than DS. It has a warmth to it that PS and DS don't have. Put it this way, on a scale of 0-100% black, it would go like this:

2% Pepper white
10% Pure Silver
50% Dark Silver
85% Royal Grey
100% Jet Black

So, do you think Royal Grey would look good with ASA JH6 Rims?

wow...hard call. For me, I would think they would be too bright, too much contrast. However, it would add a very classic feel to the car, something that the R99's and BBS rims don't exactly do.

I think that it would really depend on what else you did. If you added the silver roof & some silver bonnet stripes, i think it would mesh pretty well.

Of course, whatever color i end up getting in the spring i'll swap wheels between cars and take pics!
