My Fair Brady

Ok, so I happen to be flipping channels and the show "My Fair Brady" is on. Just as I'm about to keep flipping thru, the girl (Adrian) on the show is telling the camera that she is going to buy her first car and she is going to go with her friend to look at MINIs. So, ok now it has my interest.

It shows the test drive, her finding one that she likes on the lot and the "negotiation". I didn't catch the name of the dealership in So. Cal but basically she bought a HB/B Cooper...couldn't tell what options it had except Lapis leather. The MA tells her, "we'll knock off $3,000 from the total of $27,900" so she bought the Cooper for $24,900.

Now, the reason I'm posting this...$27,000 for a Cooper, not an S? Is that what they really go for at some of the dealerships in Cali?

They rerun that show all the time so if anyone else wants to see it it shouldn't be hard to find...it was actually kind of amusing.

i'm not sure about that... i configured an MC with leather, chrome interior, chrome, side mirrors, cvt, premium and sport packages, h/k and it came to almost $25k.

i bet they gave her the 'i'm gonna be on tv' discount!

I recorded that episode over the weekend, but haven't watched it yet.

When I do, I'll see if I can pick out the details of the car.

Will you also get the name of the dealership? They showed the sign but I didn't catch it...after reading so much about the various So. Cal dealerships I'm curious which one this was.

OK look at the price. $27K for a Cooper. I bet that the dealer has installed every bit of ADP that exists.

I watched the show and saw a Sport pack, Exterior Chrome Pack, But I don't remember if she has Xenons or not. Or if she got a rear fog or not. She bought off the lot so I am 100% confident she got the Cold Weather and Premium packs as well. I did see the arm rest, and very confident that she got the chrome interior as well as the factory cup holder / downtube ugly-fier thingy.

I bet they saw the cameras and their minds went KACHING!

I wouldn't doubt that she even got carpet floor mats [summer] to go over the rubber floor mats [winter]!

MrsDiff and I saw that episode and she commented, "I suppose you want them to delete out the chick and show more of the MINI. Right?"

I raised my hand and hung my head in shame. MrsDiff knows I have the MINI-itus bad!

The wife and I have seen that episode multiple times. The stealerships is Nick Alexander in Los Angeles.
You must remember that she is young (22) and a model.

all packages, leather, HK, wheels, accessories, + some of the JCW goodies....I think that's correct for a max optioned MC

of course for this much it BETTER include the dealer's "exterior and interior protection packages"!

Maybe she got the "You brought in a video camera so we get more ADP" package!

OK I went crazy and this is what I came up with $27,910!

Here is the list...
06 MC HB/B #1, #2, #3, Chrome interior & exterior, Xenons?, Rear Fog?, Lapis Blue interior, Park Distance Control?, Garage door opener?, HK radio/Speakers, Park Lane Metalic Interior?, Arm rest, Foot rest?, Rear Saddlebag?, Black Rubber Mats Front? Rear? and Boot?, SIRIUS radio?, CD Changer? with cover?, Aux Plug?, Aux Gagues?, Security System?, Bumper Protection?, Hands Free phone?, Invisashield?

I would also bet that she got a tire warrenty and extended warrenty. So ovbiously you would have to delete some of the above to cover them.

But yes you can build a $27,910 MINI Cooper! I will stick with MIB at $20,750 thanks!

That was precicely when MrsDiff said, "I bet you want them to delete her out and just show the MINI!"

And like a good husband, you said yes. From a female perspective I'm not sure I'd actually believe you though...no matter how obsessed you are over the MINI at the moment.

Oh and on your price total...you didn't add in the CVT...did that car have the CVT?

Good to see you read in the sarcasm from the both of us!

I did not add in CVT. Couldn't remember if she had CVT or not. If it was CVT, then delete more of the other suff.

Is it bad i have no idea what show ya'll are talking about?

And I'd believe if you were more into the mini than the model, even though i haven't a clue what she looks like... just because i know how sexy the mini is

TSB: VH1 has a celebrity reality show called "My Fair Brady". To fill you in this show is a sequel to the Surreal life 4. Celebs move into a house for a week or month and then the cclebs must live "real world" style. Seems that the chick who won the first super model reality show, Adrianne, fell in love with "Perter Brady"

This is simmilar to last years show where Flava Flave fell in love with Brigete Neilson. That show ended bad.

This one will end much better as the model Adrianne got a MINI. Who cares if she lands the "Brady" or not.

No it is not bad that you have no idea about the show...more reality tv. Oh, and the MINI on the show wasn't as sexy as the one you own or I own because it wasn't Liquid Yellow.

Liquid Yellow screams "I'M SEXY!"

And i stopped watching tv when i bought my mini. how ironic.
I only watch Medium, but never when it's actually on TV. Thank god for Tivo, so i just watch it whenever i feel like it. Usually on a Saturday morning trying to procrastinate cleaning the house

I only hope it's a cvt... and the last thing I would want is that 'woman' driving a MCS stick! the poor car and clutch!

I finally watched this episode. Most of this is already posted above, but here's my list anyway.

The dealership was Alexander MINI. She paid $24,820.

HB/B MC
CVT
Sport Package
Sunroof, MF Wheel (so probably Premium Package)
Blue Leather
HK Sound
Interior Chrome
Chrome Mirror Covers
Floor Mats
