Well, I'm over 40 posts, and I realized that I never properly introduced myself. Coming from a long heritage of spending far too much time on list servers, you'd think I would know better.

So, here's a big "howdy yall" from North Carolina!

I have finalized my order and will be submitting it on Feb 1st. I'm going with a dark silver/dark silver Mini Cooper S, 17" R90 wheels with runflats (replaced when they wear out with reg tires), rubber mats, Option Pack 1, 2, and cold weather pack, and I'm going with leatherette.

Immediate modifications:
Chrome mirrors, chrome grill, chrome boot handle, chrome door handle scoop inserts, chrome interior rings, 99% sure Whalen shift ****, glove box organizer, and arm rest (need to see the new OEM one in UK).

Soon after modifications:
Madness Intake

Possible modifications:
Magnaflow Exhaust, Euro Full Toggle Bank, Driver Side Parcel Shelf, quad brake light modification.

There is ~6 month wait on the S from my dealer, so I ought to have it in time for my birthday or very close. What a great present. (The 6 mo. wait actually suits me fine - keeps me to one car payment)

I'm hoping by the time my MINI rolls off the line, BMW will have the car in a near perfect state. I sure feel for you folks that worked through the early teething problems. I was always utterly amazed to read, "I had X, Y, Z break...three times...still doesn't work...then my Q fell off. I LOVE THIS CAR." I was beginning to wonder if BMW was hacking the site and adding the last sentence. It surely is a testament to the car's appeal to have the problems and still have such love for the car.

Now, as best as I can judge, most of the problems have been addressed. Hopefully the new coolant tank will hold fluid...pretty blue/green fluid.

When I first saw a MINI two months ago, I was curious. Curiousity turned to interest. Interest turned to heavy research. Research turned to obsession. Now, how do I move on from here?

I want to thank all of you for creating such a great resource. I have learned so much on the MINI forums over the past two months. In fact, all I seem to be able to talk about lately is MINI. My wife gives me funny looks, and my 4 yr old says, "Dad, are you looking at that MINI site, AGAINNNNN??". Obsessed. Surely.

See ya,
JS

Pigeons are nasty! I lived in the Tarheel state during my graduate school days. Ah... Carboro, the little town next door.

Welcome to MCO... although I am just a guy like yourself, and not one of the important people here!

Yeah the car does tend to bring out our obsessive tendancies....

Welcome JS!

Great to have more enthusiastic members here!

We will help you survive the psychosis that occurs from now until your delivery date.

Initial problems for a brand new vehicle platform have been relatively minor, all in all.

You just hear about it so much here because we have little else to talk about, except for Counting Chocolate!

Welcome,
Thanks for sharing about the wait. We are looking at a possible 5 month wait. So in the meantime "Yea, I'm on the MINI site again!" MCO is great. I've learned a lot and the level of enthusiasm is beyond any other car site I've visited. We'll enjoy the company of our good friends at MCO as we wait
Kind Regards,
Ron

ALOHA, js!
I like your color choice...not too many MINIs with the roof in body color option.
Again, welcome aboard. Hang Loose!

Thanks for the warm welcome. I look forward to getting to know all of you better as I sink deeper and deeper into this psychosis.

I don't actually think it's a psychosis.

Nor is it a neurosis.

It's called MINIac-ism, and you've become a MINIac.

Just for the record!
