>>Haven't bought one yet, but I'm shopping for a MINI in the LA area. Do you have any recommendations about dealerships? I dropped by Universal City MINI and was less than jazzed.
Heard you may want to go out of state with the MSRP mark-ups in CA.
There are dealers that are not taking markup and have some inventory in stock, or can get one fairly soon.

Hmm. Maybe I'll retry them when I've resolved by S vs. Standard quandry.
My first annoyance was when the salesman asked if I'd need my parents to sign on the loan. (I'm 24 and look it, but I bring down 45k and I'm really tired of hearing about my age.) Then he wouldn't let me drive on the freeway. And I don't know how I'm going to decide if I want the S or not if I can't take each one up above 60. Then he told me that whether I special ordered or not I should expect to pay 3k for the motoring package and 3k dealer markup on an S. So right now I'm thinking of looking at other dealerships, but we'll see.

So a 3k motoring package and 3k dealer markup.....that is alot of money. Sounds like extra money just for the dealer...is that not a 6k markup? I would look at other dealers......I got my 2003 MC at MSRP + $395 dealer admin fee. I know that is a markup also, but I figured it would cost me that to get my MINI back to WA from another dealer. $395 is alot better than 6K.....

Ask for Matt Limburg or Tony Lage -- both great guys! Here's the toll-free #:800-794-4269. Tell them Clover sent you!
Cheers!

Jolly good. Sound generally like Long Beach is the place to go. I'll have to head down there in a month or two when I'm ready to order. Or perhaps sooner for a test drive...
I keep two print-outs in my brief case from the MiniUSA website -- one of a Cooper S configuration, of a Cooper. Now if I can only decide which way to go, I'm all set.

I went through the same process. I liked the ride of 'S' but wanted a CVT. So i got the MC with SS+, and CVT. I also got the Premuim and Sports packs. The ride is like that of an 'S' but without the supercharger. It worked for me.

I personally got mine from Dreyer & Reinbold in Indiana. they charged no markup, gave me $500 off on installation on my roof rack, and could get my mini in a few months. It was scheduled for march production, but just got moved back up to the end of Feb now. hope to be motoring sooner than later. Just ask for Amanda. SHe has been great helping me resolve all my questions.
