approximately 2300 in 6th.

Your range depends on your penchant for "leadfootedness". but I have gone nearly 400 miles on a long highway trip before I felt the need to fill up the tank.

I beleive you need to take the car to a MINI dealer specifically.

Again, note that result is from a 2003 MINI, which had the more conservative gearing.

I'll post my results from the 2005 gearing this evening.

I have gotten from Pittsburgh to Philly with one tank of gas and still had enough gas to drive around philly for the day. not sure of the mileage.

I think some people are confusing redline with rev limiter. Redline is what's marked on your tach. On my '05 S it is 6750.

Yep

Redline starts at 6750, but rev limiter is about 7350.

Had a short drive in my car this afternoon, managed to briefly get it up to 60mph (let's just say it WASN'T a highway!), for "scientific purposes".

Edge's findings (approximate):

2005 MCS (manual trans): 60mph = 2500 rpm in 6th gear
