15 Horses For 1500usd

I dynoed the beast today and it's only putting out 15 extra horses at the wheels after adding Alta CAI, Unichip, Milltek exhaust.

I'm not surprised..... If you look at all my threads and posts you will see my astonishment that mods did not add power in a linear fashion but rather a compressed composite. If they purely added there would be a lot more 300 whp cars out there.

Add a pulley

You may try a custom tune with the Unichip to get the max performance.

Also, the Mini is very difficult to dyno. It is very sensitive to heat and it builds heat quick and takes a while to cool on the dyno.

I "feel your pain" brother

Not bad actually

considering that you don't have a pulley.

Not bad for peak...

but you'll find that it's hard to bring up peak HP without using a pully. What did the curves look like at lower RPM? Also, dyno tune the Unichip for max benefit..... But I'd wait until after the pully.

That's actually pretty good, considering those mods alone are not deisgned to boost power, rather add to existing power-adders, such as a pulley.

"we used a stock 05 as benchmark"

people have found that each car's engine output can vary significantly (seems especially pronounced in Minis, but I have seen some real differences in other cars as well), so there is a good chance basing it on another car's baseline won't be accurate.

at least you have your car's baseline with the current mods to do a before after comparo when/if you add a pully or other power related mods.
