Number of Top-Up/Downs per day????
Hey you cabrio owners. I drive with my top down as often as possible. But when parked for a while, I put the top up in case of rain. I sometimes have the roof up/down 4 times per day.
How many times a day to you raise and lower your roof every day?

For me, it's probably about 2-3 times a day on average. I keep the top down as much as possible, especially when she's sitting in my garage. Any stops at the local stores or when it's very hot out though, the top goes up.
I'd say 1-2. If it's nice out I park at work with the top down, and then leave it in the driveway with the top down until I know I am in for the night. I do lock up my EZPASS in the glovebox though. It's really the only valuable thing in the car that someone might want to steal.
Any thoughts on downside of making a habit of keeping the top down all the time? Additional creases, marks, etc?
My garage/enclosed carport is too full of spiders and the neighbor's cat to consider leaving the top down for too long a stretch. Not to mention, right now the garage is too messy to even get a MINI in there comfortably.
But seriously, I would think keeping the top closed some (when resting from motoring, of course) would help the top keep its shape and minimize creases and stress. This is my first convertible so I welcome the advice.
Good thread~

During the week - top is open/closed once a day coming home from the train station.
On the weekend, it depends on how many errand places I stop at. Sometimes 5-6 times.....I do not leave my top down anywhere including in my driveway. Too easy a target for snoops and bird poopy...

I keep the roof and windows up at night while in the garage. This is to keep spiders and dirt from getting inside. I am careful when I park outside with top down, summer showers and all.

Great thread. I was wondering how the up/down cycle may/may not impact the top, especially with all the threads about the white spots showing up on the top.
Mine goes up/down average twice a day.

My wife puts the top up while the car is at her work, and down rest of the time. If we take the car anywhere in the evening and is parked for more than a few minutes, we put the top up.
I recently 'treated' our top with Raggtop fabric protectant and it seemed to bring life back to the color (our top is blue) and even diminished the 'faded' areas caused by rubbing.
