Body color dash scratch

I have a red dash and just got a fairly superficial 1.5 inch scratch on the passenger side. It won't just rub out and it kills me to look at it. Barring replacing the panel, any suggestions?

Can you post a pic? Maybe by looking at it we can help.

Is the scratch on the lacquered surface or on the actual door pull (Unlacquered).

Have you tried using something like cleaner wax?

I'll try and take a pic, but it's dark, so maybe tomorrow. The flash will reflect and wash out everything. It's actually on the dash, not the door. I haven't put anything on it.

That's the lacquered section then. Do you know what caused the scratch? can you feel it with your finger nail?

Yeah. Like an idiot I threw a backpack on the seat and a plastic clip from the bag hit the dash. I can feel it, but it's not very deep. Less than a millimeter deep I'd guess.

I've got several small scratches on my body colored dash and I don't know how they got there. The material seems very soft. I was going to try plastic polish on them but that probably won't work for yours.

He is taking about the dashboard plastic trim, not the paintwork
