Yea, the title pretty much says it all. I see everyone saying "yea SOOP3R was born on 2/2/05." All I know was Harmon was "born" in the first or second week in December.

The month and year are on the door plate inside the drivers door. The exact date, could be had if you tracked your order through MINI USA. I bought mine off the lot, so I have no idea of the exact day. but it was sometime in September '04.

I tracked my car via the Owner's Lounge and never understood where it showed my car's B-day. Can anyone clarify this?

 

If you go to the OL, there are complete directions on how to track your cars progress across the pond, even if you didn't order it. One of the links, forget which one, just log on OL and look around, goes to the shipping lines. Just type your vin in as the cargo and it will tell you exactly when it left Southhampton, the ship and when it docked. If you look around the link it will also tell you how many cars were on the manifest. For example, mine was like car #139 out of 400. You will most likely see your cars sisters and brothers (immediate siblings) if you look around the manifest.

To get the exact day, word is you got to email them

Mine was born on 11th November, Armistice day, can you believe that?? It only occured to me recently.

Quite fitting for a car named after a WW1 aeroplane.

OK, I have been all over the OL, and can not find any way to get info about my car. I bought it off the lot, registered with the OL when I got it. I can find no place on the OL, that will allow me to see what boat it came over on, how many cars, etc.

Well since I still have all my notes from when I was treacking it last year. It only took 9 days to make my car. 21 April 04 to 30 Apr 04.

when calling MINI usa to track, they told me it went from the production line to the wating lot on the 2nd of febuary.

Make sure letters are caps
A new screen will come up that is your cars tracking history
Copy the booking number

Paste the booking number and Click on Track
A new page comes up with all the cars on that voyage

I just did this and I was wrong, not 400 cars, 140 cars of which I was #37.

i got a bday email from mini when i had owned my car for one year (really cute btw) which is when i celebrated his birthday! not really sure of his actual birthday - but i'll have to check out the OL to find out because i've always been curious!

 

ask your MA for the production date. The MA should be able to look it up on DCS net. (they'll know what that means)

Thanks for posting this! I chose my MINI from stock on the lot because it was very, very close to what I specce'd out and I didn't want to have to wait all summer to get it. I knew what the production date on my MINI was (April 13, 2005) because I saw the sheet from the dealers when we were making sure of the options and packages it had, but now after running my VIN through that I know what ship it came over on (Takasago) and where it was discharged (Charleston, SC, on the day before my 40th Bday!). Neat!
