:???:

I WAS going to receive my S tomorrow. I have just got off the phone from my BMW dealer informing me that all deliveries of S's have been stopped as of today so that BMW can perform some safety checks on the car!!
There are no other details as yet but I thought you guys would like to know!

Anyone else been told this??

I'll just have to wait a little bit longer I guess!!

Dazza,

Bummer, especially when you're getting it today. Have you been told how long the delay will be? is it a dealer check?

Hopefully, it shouldn't affect mine.. I've got to wait until Sept for mine!

Just got off the phone to them.

They were running the production line for five days using the wrong fuel line. All these cars have been stopped from delivery or recalled. Existing production line is ok and continuing. You were probably lucky and missed the problem.

Unfortuantly for me I now have to drive a Cooper for the next few days until they can replace the part! Bummer!

Anybody here about the shifter being corrected?? Heard that some shifter linkages were coming apart rendering the car into a paperweight.

The cable for the shift linkage has been fixed, and should not affect any mini on the assembly line. If you have recently recieved your Mini, you should gi ti your dealer and let them replace the affected part.

The shift linkage also only applies to the standard cooper not the S.
