A couple weeks ago, I parked at campus to take one of my finals. The class building is down a hill, so when I came back up and crested the hill, I saw that someone had parked a Hummer (not H2) next to Zooty. I just started laughing right there. All those empty spaces in the parking lot and they had to park next to me.

We also have those H2 limos in my area but I haven't seen them photoed next to a MINI.

I wonder how heavy that "thing" is and how lousey the handling must be.

Ever tried to park something that large- must be harder to do than parking a hook and ladder.

Wait, how many peeps fit into that limo? 47?

The better question is, how many Midget Clowns can you fit in that limo

I think the correct term is "Mini Clowns". My guess of 47 still stands.

Every time I think of people blowing 60 large on an H2, or even worse 75+ on an H1, I just begin to laugh... , specially I got to drive those for free in the Army and we actually used them for their intended purpose...

There are a group of houses near me that have back yards protected from busy streets by a 10 ft. tall concrete block wall. This wall wraps around a 'T' intersection.

Late one night a Hummer tried to make the 90 degree turn, from the through street onto the intersecting street, and only made 45 degrees of the 90. I heard that he was unhurt, but he took out the street sign at the corner and smacked right into the blunted corner of the wall (blunted like \_/).

He messed up the wall pretty good. Before the wall was repaired, I looked and looked but was unable to find one of those signs that says, "This space reserved for Hummer parking only."

I went to a wedding and the bride/groom escapemobile was a white stretch hummer... which got lost on the way to the reception. I and another abandoned girlfriend of the groomsmen were following them and had to wait about 10 minutes while they attempted a 206 point turn in the middle of the street.

Ugh.

Tacky AND stupid.

Come on now, A dont poop on a hummer! Poop on the way that people drive them.

Its not a car that is intended to drive around in - its a truck thats for off road.

It should never have spinner wheels - these ruin the traction and you cant partially deflate low profile tires to go over rocks.

There should be no premium sound system & no DVD - You need to hear what the H2 is doing as it goes over the rocks.

Dont get leather and wood trim - the mud & dirt will ruin them.

OnStar - come-on noone is gonna tow you out of the woods and certintly not some ravine.

Dont drop the suspension - to ruins its clearence.

Dont raise it for that matter - it makes it unstable

These are trucks that are designed for extreme driving - not unlike our Minis. Ours are designed for the twisties and the H2 is for going up a dirt trail in the mountains. Put a Vette in this catagory - they go fast from a standstill.

Want to have some real fun in a H2 put on a snorkle! I'd love a H2 except that I live in Florida. I dont ever understand why anyone down here would ever buy a truck as a car. Yea if your a contractor or the like. The only mountain here in florida is Space Mountatin at Disney world.

It's a shame....much like the fact that people dont track their MINI's despite its obvious performance capabilities....

Its the same thing, some people off-road their hummers and lots dont. Some people track their minis and some dont.

I agree that more people should use their car for what it was made for....but you cant call them stupid for it. You wouldnt last long on here calling everyone who doesnt track their car not smart....85% of the meets on here involve trips to restaraunts instead of tracks. I just went to a track event and was sad to only see 2 other minis....

I was driving on rt. 9 in Jersey, where many an H2 roam, and one decided that he wanted to drive aggressively and, quite frankly, get in my way. I just thought to myself "you own the most cliched vehicle imaginable", then I dispatched him like the big, giant, lumbering oaf he is.

Actually, if you can parallel park a vehicle like ours, you can do it in any size vehicle...I can parallel park a 78 passenger vehicle as I used to drive school buses for a living many years ago, and it can be done just as well as you can parallel park a motorcycle, it's just about knowing where your rear is and adjusting to make it fit your situation

No one was calling anyone stupid. The "smarter" comment was more in reference to gas consumption. I feel like I made a smart decision with the MINI Cooper not only because of the 'fun factor', but also because it made sense in regards to the current high price of gas.

One of my other vehicles is a Land Rover Defender 90 that I've had since 1996. It was used as a daily driver (until the MINI) and was and is still used on weekends for off-roading. As a daily driver, the H2 is a tough sell these days. There is a good reason why the major manufacturers are clamoring to enter a HYBRID model into their stable of vehicles. More consumers are realizing that gas economy, among other things, is a SMART thing to consider when shopping for a new vehicle. Even the US GOVERNMENT has decided that HUMMER may not be the smartest way to go in non-combat situations - http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do...ticleId=105726 -

"The switch to the gas-powered school-carpool mainstays is designed to reduce fuel consumption and improve passenger-carrying ability. The U.S. military has complained it is inefficient to use Humvees to carry a few soldiers at a time, especially in noncombat situations." - Edmunds 05-23-05

The H2 finished DEAD LAST in a major consumer satisfaction analysis. It is NO coincedence that while H2 sales are in decline and its dealers offering various incentives to lure customers, as MINI sales are on the increase and in demand. Its owners have cited, 'unexpected gas expenses' ($100 for a full tank if i remember it right) and difficulty finding a parking spot as one of their many concerns.

The MINI is a SMART car to buy for all the reasons we've all fallen in love with each of our MINIs.

Winter driving

This past winter I was out in a snow storm in my Blizzak shod Cooper. I am quite comfortable driving in snow and the MINI goes great so it was with great pleasure that I pulled alongside and passed (on a four lane rd) an H2. I gave a little toot and motored on feeling smug. MINIs rule.

A while back, I was coming up to an intersection, and the light turned yellow, I had lots of time to legally get through it, but knowing no one was behind me, I decided to stop.
Pulled it down from 45 to 0, like NOW, no problem. A Hummer pulled to a stop in the lane to my right. He had to reach down so I could see, but he was giving me a. Gave him a toot of the horn back. Light turned green, I was gone, and he lumbered along behind me

Wow. Im amazed at the sheer prepubescent comments aimed at people by "H2 owners". My particular favorite: "Youre just envious of my enormous size"... Um right... Thats why you drive a car that screams insecurity.... I can feel good saving gas money for mods to my Mini thats on the way while i get 35 mpg in my temporary civic

No, but I was zoomin down the freeway the other day, and a hugely lifted, humongous tired ford f-150 pulled up on my right and laughted at us...he was so tall, he'd have had to reach DOWN to pat me on the head...I let him eat my dust
