Wacked the driver side mirror

While backing into my garage to unload I was watching the center post and wacked the driver side mirror on the side of the garage. The MINI is a MCS05 and now I have numerous ugly white marks on the black molding that surrounds the mirror. I thought the marks were the garage paint but they are not coming out with various cleaners and paint thinners. Is there white under the surface of the black plastic? Does anyone know of a matching paint? I have not tried scraping it off with a knife or blade because it may be the actual white plastic surface. I am hoping not to replace the complete mirror assembly.

When many types of plasitc become compressed (as would happen in your impact), they become a white color. I dont know how you would get it out, but the plastic underneath is black.

I did a similar thing the first day I drove my Mini I ended up opting for a ghetto fix - a black sharpie

Maybe use this as a reason to get chrome, checkerboard or British flag mirror covers?

Thanks CHIBO

The black sharpie worked very well. The white is gone and you have to look very closely to see the slight indentations. The mirror covers wouldn't work because they don't seem to cover the black bezel that immediately surrounds the actual mirror.
