Got my MINI 4 years ago today and I thought I'd bump a great old thread just to see how many original "April Clubbers" are still around

Holy cow.. it's been AGES since I've been here...

*poking around*

My car just came off of lease this week. I'm buying it for my very own.

63k miles later, it's even more fun than it was when I got it. Drove the new Mini and it just didn't speak to me like mine does, even though it DID have some nice features (and less of a boot rattle!).

I'm a high-performance driving instructor now! I'm married now!

WOO HOOO!
The April Club lives!!!
How deep did you have to dig to find it again???
Burnie's 4th birthday was a few weeks ago...March 20. 4th anniversary of pickup is coming up on April 30...remember the drama???

Must agree with Rachel...still get a big ol' grin everytime I hop in . Haven't yet seen or driven an 07, but I'm in no hurry to do so...me 'n' Burnie plan to stick together for a long while yet!

Hope all you CWFACers are doin' well and congrats to Rachel on the job and the "relationship upgrade!"

My Gawd its been a long time. I sold my beloved little April over 2 years ago, and she's the best car I've ever had. I am still driving her successor, the GTO, and though I still like it, I know that its just one more in a long line of cars while April was special. It is years away at this point, but I know there will be another MINI in my life and I'm already looking forward to it. It literally brings tears to my eyes thinking of those months of anticipation and finally getting that ultimate reward, my very own MINI all those years ago. Its also great to hear from Chef, Rachel, Asodestrom, and of course the ultimate MINI supporter and wealth of knowledge, Ryan. Happy Wishes to you all.

Phil

wooooooooooo!! APRIL CLUB 2003!! What's up guys?! Thank god I have it set up to get emails when someone writes. It made me quite happy to see there was a post on here and immediately brought me back to the anxious waiting leading up to the delivery and the sheer joy of sharing our new MINIs. I can't believe it's been so long already since Winnie was delivered to me and I still have tons of fun with her and still wave to all other motorists.

Still no big problems with her, with the exception of cracked windshileds and increased rattling places that sort've drive me crazy. Have about 80k miles on it and still loooooooooove it.

As for a quick update, I've moved from Va Beach, VA and now live in Lexington, KY because my girlfriend got a job in the field she went to grad school for, working at the university of kentucky. I now find myself working at UK also. There are some really good and pretty drives out there and I'm enjoying myself.

Hope all is well with everyone!

Cool! Great to see many ofl the April Club folks are still around.

We traded the 03 MCS for an 06 MCS. It was worth $18k! Paid $22k. (03)

I loved it, but it spent more time at the dealer than with us. It was a troubled car, but never stranded us.

It was such a PIA we got another one! The new one seems more solid, probably being at the end of the run, and we sure like it better than the 07.

Hope all is well. Nice idea bringing the thread back.!

regards,
Red

Wicked Wanda, my second MINI, is going strong! I picked her up on 4/4/03 and took her on a 10K cross-country road trip through 22 states, and attended the first Dragon meet. She has almost 77K miles now.

I am currently MINI-less, but am currently looking at the new Clubman. Saw one on the road a few weeks ago, and it looked MUCH better than I expected from the pictures I've seen, that just seemed unbalanced and wrong. And, my wife's car just died - needs a new engine. Less than a week after it was paid off. So, I may become an April Clubber all over again. It will likely not be an S this time, as the GTO has power just oozing out of it, and it will be nice to get over 20 miles out of a gallon of gas for a change. I'd like to find one configured correctly at a dealer rather than going through the ordering/waiting process all over again, but who knows.

Its great to see the group is still alive - in looking thru the site, I see that Ryan is still around, and recently gave up his newest MINI project. Sorry to see that, but there will always be another.

Later,

Phil

Happy Anniversary April Clubbers!

I'm currently having fun with an '02 MCS, after a brief stint with an R56 MCS last spring. I just love the visceral excitement of the R53!

I can't believe it's been over 5 years since taking delivery of my 1st MINI back in 2003. It's been a fun, wild, scary, educational, and completely worthwhile experience. I don't regret it at all.

Cheers,
Ryan

Greetings April Club!

Enjoying the 06 car as much as the first day in the 03 and the classic lines will always hold up.

I love looking at it, washing it, driving it, running it in autocross. Sure was fun waiting for it in 03 and sharing the experience with everyone.

regards,
Red
