You break down and get a lawn service. When my son did it, the actual mowing looked like an oil painting. And I am too busy cleaning wheels to mow.

Say, does anyone have their original tire valve covers? I have one left. Replaced with cheapo black plastic as nice metal ones seem to be the rage around here.

I bought a stash of the OEM metal valve caps, because even though they're cheap, I like them much better than the yukkie black caps. The only time I got my jacked was at a car show (non-MINI show, gasp!)

I'm excited, the MMMC Fall Color Tour is Saturday! The trees are getting very beautiful now, so this weekends Motor through woods and countryside will be great!

Its not my SON its my SO (netspeak for wifey) and she actually LIKES to do it. While she pushes the mower around I run the big gas weed whacker and do other nasty unpleasant tasks

What, pray tell, will you be motoring in??? I can't beleive that the Jingu Maru made it across that fast!!! Did they add a pulley and ECU upgrade to the ship too??? . Once we got it all sorted out things went smoother and I was very proud and impressed with their first outing!

Best to all and have a great Friday! (or whatever day it is when you read this!

Cheffie, I'll be co-piloting in a few fellow MINIac's MINI's. I've been requested to grace my booty in their vehicle, so I simply much oblige
Hopefully I remember my camera, and will try to post pics! [crosses fingers for a good turnout]

My bad cheffie. I knew you meant your SO. I don't know why I put SON. You just can't get good help anymore. Or maybe it was the spyware thing, or maybe my keyboard is messed up or maybe I just don't pay enough attention to proof reading.

My chances of getting the SO aka wifey to mow the lawn just dissapeared. I have been lizard sitting a friends bearded dragon and a bunch of live crickets got loose in the house (got any good recipes?). I think I have found most of them but who knows.

Ryan, have fun motoring, and do post some fall pics.

Red, I just checked an I still have all of mine.

Have a great weekend everyone (who's still left)

Andy

Sorry Chef. I did not know the SO thingie. And I am going to hire a tutor to hold my hand while I move pictures from the Gallery to this thread.

As far as the valve caps go, maybe I have a stalker. Like to put some mild explosives on them, timed to go off when they are away from the car of course. Actually, if that's all that happens to it, I will keep buying them.

Red

Hey! After two beers I am getting closer to posting a picture! Wonder how I will do after the next 4?

(Yes, I have been to the "Test" site, now I am inflicting my ignorance on friends). And Chef has been a very kind coach. At least I don't roast fowl at 250 degrees!

>>A little expensive but well worth it if you blend alot...we make smoothies all the time and the "occasional" stronger drink and love ours...think long term and buy quality I always say!

'little expensive' as in the $100ish ones? what's the real difference between the bar and other blenders? Quiz time (except I don't know the answers...
>>

I'm still not sure! It was a brand new one that I'd used maybe three times for a less than an hour. It deleted everything on itself a few times. I can't reset it (it won't!). So it's back to the apple store *sigh*.

>>Hope all are well!

I'm enjoying the new job... though I'd prefer it if I got paid. Five weeks and they still haven't gotten it corrected.

Thanks Ryan! That's me on the right. The Fiat 850 in the photo is smaller than today's MINI.

And someday I will be able to post them here myself.

Red

The only thing that I hate about fall is that it leads to winter... everything else about it is wonderful... my fall foliage tour is next weekend with the Audi group (though I'm sorely tempted to crash it in the mini).

Michigan in the fall is simply stunning.

Enjoy and take lots of pictures (please)!

Heading to Appleton, Wisconsin Sunday. There are not many trees in that area! Guess you have to head north.

Near my home are Long Island's North or South forks that are pretty nice for leaf peeping and motoring (about 60 miles east), "horse country" about ten miles north, and the Catskills, about 80 miles north.

So why only 3,800 miles on my MINI? Because it's not used for work or errands. Just motoring around and rounding off the edges of the tires.

Hope we all have a chance to enjoy the Fall in our MINI's, especially Ryan!

Regards,
Red

BTW...judging from the angle of this photograph I would guess that the person who snapped this picture was "high"

I finally have three days off

Wife and I are going to Lake Tahoe to drive twisty mountain roads, fish, drive twisty mountain roads, take photos, drive twisty mountain roads, etc. etc. etc.

I know we don't have the great fall colors that you eastern folks have, but we do have some. If I find some I will post next week.

Have a great weekend to all,

Andy

That was 1972. Everyone in Brooklyn looked like they were in a band! And from every angle things looked "high".

And none of you sharp eyed readers realized I made a mistake; my Father's Fiat was a 128, not an 850. My bad.

hey guys, well i recently did lots more mods to winnie that i'll need to soon post pics of... i got a new dead pedal rest, a way too expensive shelf to replace my hotpocket, a stubby silver antenna, clear third brake light, and new rear lenses that make the orange circle a clear circle.. think everything looks real cool, and not ricey or anything like that... now i'm waiting for two sets of silver bulbs that ignite amber to replace the ones for the rears and front turn indicators.. woooooo!

and wooooo for ryan almost getting his second MINI

I think that was the Chef replying to my post. As many in this club will attest, I am tech impaired when it comes to this site.

Yippee Ryan! Production is coming up. What if it gets pushed to 10/31? Scary thought. Hope all goes well.

Your Cad is SWEET Red. Love it.

I just got back from a weekend in Tahoe. I found an old picture my dad took in 49 when he built the place.

Then

And Now

Had great fun driving twisty mountain roads.

And finally, Roof graphics by Zaino bros.

oooOH, Andy, the "then and now" pictures are mesmerizing! I also love the Zaino "roof graphic" Any idea what the car is in the Original 1949 picture? Lake Tahoe looks so beautiful; I'd like to visit there sometime.

(Red, I'm sure your Caddy's about 2x the length of the MINI!)

Ryan, I think it's a Dodge, maybe 46 or 47. I'm not sure. I'll ask my dad next time I see him.

The lake in the photo is actually Donner lake. It's about 12 miles from Tahoe. The lake in the background on the "through the windshield" shot is Lake Tajoe.
