I know those in Europe have been getting the new steering wheel, but how about the US? I've heard that it is standard on the S and optional for the Cooper as of 12/02, but then I've also heard that it won't be available until March. So which is it? Do any of you guys or gals here in the US have the new wheel already?

YES YES YES!! My MCS arrived at the dealer Saturday Morning and HAS the NEW WHEEL AND PEDALS! It was built 11/29. Am I excited? Gee, can't you tell!?!? My wife said I let out a shriek when I saw them! Oh by the way.... MINI of Peabody, MA is my (awesome) dealer!

I am partial to my current steering wheel, but I agree that those pedals ARE nice.....
I am getting new pedals soon anyway........ :smile:

 

I bought my MINI in April and it has the sports wheel which comes with the sports package.

Maybe there's a newer model.

Thanks artguy. You're the first I've heard in the US (I presume) confirming getting it. Look forward to hopefully having it on mine. Pedals look sharp as well, just hope they don't get too slippery.

my car was built sometime in december and should arrive at the dealer early january, will I have the new sport steering wheel and pedals?

My dealer said March when I asked a few weeks ago, but MINI themselves said it would be available as of 12/02, so you may well have the steering wheel. You'll probably have the pedals, as it seems most S's now are being fitted with them. Maybe contact your dealer to check.

Anybody know if we can purchase the pedals as an accessory? I would love to have those pedals in my MCS.

 

We got the sport package on our MCS, which included the steering wheel, but not the pedals. Moss Motors has pedals similar, but I'm not sure of the quality. I've just seen pictures. There's are aluminum and come with either &quot;MINI&quot; or the &quot;S&quot; logo.

 

Very nice, will buy the pedals but as for the steering wheel, wouldn't bother cuz not much difference...
