R50/53 The Turbonator?
MCS doubts.
The whole premise is that it creates the air to swirl and therefore a better flow/faster air flow. On TV they do this thing where they stack two platic coke type bottles - the top full of water and the bottom with air. The water gluges fron the top to the bottom (watercooler effect) but when they swirl the bottles, the water flows downward like a tornado effect.
While there maybe some merit to this concept, I question if there is any value when it comes to the MCS because the path in which the air travels is not a constant tube or circle for the swirled air to travel. The turbonator installs after air filter but before the intercooler so the air swirls entering the intercooler which is not circular. I'm hard pressed to believe that the air comes out from the intercooler still swirling and reaching the intake.

If anyone has one on a MCS - would love to hear about results because I just don't buy it.

I am glad you notified us of that. I hadn't considered that the ad was placed there and not something you were "promoting". Whew, what a relief.

Gimmick.
Someone asked the same question on another automotive forum and one of the members did the math on it. Turns out you lose like 10% horsepower when you put it on. I'll see if I can dig it up but it was a long time ago

I should mention that while I searched, one person did claim a 2HP increase. seems like someone actually did a dyno test, it seems most others go by seat of the pants or haven't even tried it.
i would say forget it though.

Turbonator = snake oil
The same device is offered for PT Cruisers and many of the members on the ptenthusiasts.org forum have stated this does nothing for performance or mileage, at least from a positive perspective.
This is another of those "there is a sucker born every minute" ripoffs. It is similar to the "Tornado". The "tornado" has been proven to have no positive benefits in so many tests that it may be the same company using a new name to try to avoid the negative press. There MAY have been SOME merit to this concept on cars that used carburetors in that it MIGHT provide for a better mixing of the air and fuel in the intake system. But with fuel injection, what good could it possibly due to "swirl" the air. There is no $30 magic device that is going to improve gas mileage. Keep your car maintained, your tires properly inflated, and drive sensibly and you will get decent gas mileage.
