R50/53 My god, they're everywhere.
My god, they're everywhere.
Since getting my Mini, I have seen an explosion in the numbers of mini's on the roads around here. It's not just a heightened attention either, because I've been looking for them for months prior to I ordered mine (day after Thanksgiving last). Perhaps people are getting them back out after the winter. Nice to see them, but somehow, it drops the unique factor of my own. Still have yet to see an MCSc though. Saw my first MCc today.
yeah,
I've only experienced one highly social driver. Ended up briefly blocking traffic while we both chatted at a light that changed. Have gotten a couple of waves. Have gotten an equal number of blank stares and odd (mildly frightened) looks. When I get to one of the local club rallies, I'm sure I'll find plenty of enthusiastic folk.

They're all over Boston now, which I think is great! I have a three-mile walk to the hospital I work at twice a week, and there are about half a dozen that I always see in their respective areas. I drive to work twice a week (25-30 minutes to go 7.5 miles!), and I probably see at least five on every trip. The "unique factor" definitely shouldn't be much of a factor when purchasing a MINI at this point!
all those other damn Long Islanders in their Mini's...
How dare they detract attention from ours????

After 3 years, I still get excited - like a little kid - when I see another MINI and we acknowledge each other.. Wooo Hoooo!!!

I have to say, where I live, they're pretty rare. Then again, backwoods Missouri is slow to pick up on anything. I didn't even see my first Mini till last spring. I know of 2 others here in the area, but I always see them parked.

The number of Minis in San Francisco is simply ridiculous! They are on every corner of the city. The Mini may not make me as unique as other cars i've had/have but they sure are cute scooting up the hills of SF in all their colorful configurations
Los Angeles has lots of MINIs! Lately, I've seen a lot of black Coopers! I always get excited when I see another MINI and wave, honk, and/or flash my lights! Seeing the Cabrios now, too, which is really fun!

On my little drive to work the other day I saw TWO MINIs!!!!! Both motorers seemed disinterested in waving, though, which bummed out me a bit I must say. Some owners seem to prefer a sense of decorum as they motor about, others, like me, are (happily) complete MINIacs! I make no apologies...
I'm visiting in LALA land for a few days and was expecting to see a lot of MINIs, but alass mostly big SUVs seem to dominate here in the Anaheim area. I walked through the parking areas yesterday in Downtown Disney and didn't see a one!, although with the size of the parking spaces and the over abundance of pickups annd SUVs I don't think I would park my MINI in any of these lots either
We have tons and tons of MINIs here in Miami. You seem them everywhere and you cross them inside parking garages, etc. The Cabrios are very popular here as well.
Where else do you see 3 to 4 Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Bentleys and Rolls Royces everyday?
Miami, of course baby!

We've got our share in exclusive oceanview and beachfront areas in Hawaii but they are behind closed gates or walls. Meanwhile the common MINIs are scooting all about Honolulu and suburbs. They're everywhere. Sorta.
It's depressing to see that over half of the vehicles on the road are SUVs and MINIvans.
Even in our tiny town of Pisgah Forest NC there are several but I rather enjoy seeing them motoring about ... mine is the only Chili Red I've seen so far though and she's been known to stop traffic a time or two. Another funny fact is I get people stopping me constantly and chatting about my baby, and they are mostly 70+ ... it's amazing how the retirees in our area are itching for one of these babies
my 69 year old father in law has been begging to drive her and I'm holding on to my keys like they were the keys to the world's fortune!

See, they are everywhere in SF - even the UCSF Police Chief got one:
"UCSF Police Chief Pam Roskowski has taken a Mini to the max, shunning the big SUVs that chiefs often favor for a Mini Cooper.
A $31,000 silver metallic, glass moon-roofed, chrome-trimmed, alloy- wheeled wonder complete with portable lights and siren.
The vehicle is raising a few eyebrows on campus, but the fully loaded car met Roskowski's criteria: "mobility, enough power to be driven on the freeway to do our business and ... easy to park.''
Roskowski, who joined UC in 2003, gets to pick her wheels as part of her university contract, and has handed off her not-so-old Honda Accord for the sportier Mini."
Now I know it isn't a joke when I see a Mini with flashing lights zoom by
