Feeling Guilty

Hit a bird today.

Going at speed (perhaps a little above legal, tho not much) on the turnpike. Heard a thud on the windshield, glanced in the rear view mirror and saw a mushrooming puff of feathers. Saw some matching feathers stuck to the top of the windshield.

Feeling guilty.

Windshield held up great. Feeling better.

At Least Not a Buzzard

Hey you're feeling sorry for the bird 'cause your windshield is still intactat.

Think what you'd be saying if it was a buzzard you'd hit!

So far the scoop on my STi has devoured two birds. What a mess when they hit the I/C at 70mph.

I hit a bird....or rather a bird hit my car.....last week. It flew into the road in front of me, I hit the brakes, it flew away but somehow managed to hit my car on the rear right side of my roof. It was loud! I couldn't see anything in my rearview mirror as far as flying feathers and I couldn't find any damage on the car. But I had the car detailed a few days later and the detailer called to tell me he found a "burn" mark on the roof of my car. He said it looked like it might have been from an orbital polisher. At first I was stumped but then I remembered 'THE BIRD"!!! Told him about it and he managed to get the mark off the car. Don't know what the mark was....feather oil? Bird dirt? I've decided the bird was just stunned but is okay and won't dive in front of a car on the highway again.

Just to stay OT; too bad about the bird.

I hit a bird a couple of weeks ago ... or should I say that I ran over a bird. I came around a bend and there was a flock of Turkeys in the road. They went left - I went right - last bird in the pack decided the grass was greener on the other side of the road and did a 180 just before I passed. I swerved left, to go between the flock and the loaner - he either wasn't walking as fast as I thought or he stopped in his tracks to admire my car - either way I caught him with the front right fender and rear wheel. Fortunately he was small - if it was one of the toms I would of had body damage.
