Audi A6 2.7T VS. 05 MCS

hi,

just wondering what you guys (and girls) think:

what would happen if you put an 2.7T audi A6 on a track against an 05 MCS?

Would the Audi molest the poor little Cooper?
Would the cooper embarass the A6?

Before answering, please remember that the big A6 has Quattro and can run to 60MPH in 6 flat!

I'm very intrigued to see what you think...

Oh I forgot: both cars are standard 6sp. and the Mini has LSD.

It depends on what type of track you mean, but I think the '05 MCS would tear it up between the new gearing and the LSD.

An '05 MCS with 6-Speed went to 60 in 6.2seconds in the latest Motor Trend review. The MCS can run through the slalom faster than almost any car reviewed in Road and Track, including the A6. So by the numbers, I think it would beat it. But as most things, with cars that are slightly close it really depends on the driver. I have seen people in stock Cooper S's run quicker than stock Subaru STi's. But again that was mostly due to a driver. If you jump up to a JCWS, which is still a stock Mini, with the upgraded suspension and brakes (still making it a stock car at a considerble cheaper price than the A6), it would for sure beat the A6.

Assuming the drivers are equal, the A6 is getting smoked. And thats a fact.

04 A6 2.7T
Curb weight: 3958 lbs
Power: 250 hp
Lb/HP: 15.8

05 MCS
Curb weight: 2679 lbs
Power: 168 hp
Lb/HP: 15.9

Comparable power:weight ratios and more than a 1000lb weight advantage for braking and cornering. I say you will smoke him like a Habano.

2005 MCC 115hp

Own them both.

The Mini all the way. A little behind in the straight away, but once the curves come up.... see ya!!!!
