Do you slow down at road bumps?

With the stiff suspension, especially on the MCS, I always slow down---really slow down---at speed bumps, railroad tracks, dips in the road, etc. Other vehicles and those that I guess don't care about their suspension just barrel through. When I slow down I find people seem to get pissed off that they have to slow down as well.

Do you slow down to a snail's pace as well? Is it important to do this so as not to ruin the suspension?

Depending on how rough it is, I sometimes don't understand people slowing down. If it's a big bump or really rough RR tracks I'll slow down. For normal RR crossings though I just go through them and it is much more smooth than if you slow down.

I do slow down at really rough crossings, etc. I turn my hazards on to let the people behind me know that Im slowing down.

Good idea. Sometimes I really worry especially if it is an SUV behind me, because I know they aren't preparing to slow down one bit

I rarely if ever slow down... Except if it's one of those evil ones that are really steep. You know the ones, if you don't slow down it almost feels like you're hitting a wall when go over the speed bump...

If you slow down, how the heck do you "catch air" in your mini?

The highway I commute on is doing the yearly hump and dip thing as winter starts to leave, and this year it is looking like a midway ride.
Pot hole season is just starting, that is the worst, but at least I can move the car anywhere I want,NOW,so it tends to be a case of watching the sedan in the rear view, smack down hardThese cars are tough,no need to baby them, but watch the road.I would not pound any car I owned.

I've convinced myself that one advantage of slowing down at bumps is I get rev it up to catch up!

the only time i slow, is over a railroad track that i KNOW is rough. You know the kind that pop your glove box open. But if the tracks are up...drop that baby and punch it...

Let's get some AIR TIME!

I cant stand slowing for the bumps, like the others said I only slow if its obvious the bumps are huge, dammaging or I will bottom for sure. It does bug me when someone slows to a crawl over the bumps and it really bugs me if they do it in a car where there is no need to slow down that much.

Going fast over speed bumps can ruin your front-end alignment... They put those speed bumps there for a reason, to slow down traffic. So, slow down! They are usually in neighborhoods full of little kids.

kenchan, you know I love ya, but hazard lights are not for when you slow down... that's what your brake lights are for!

I slow down when approaching bumps... sometimes almost to the speed limit.

Dogspeed.

Thats what i'm talkin about ! I always slow for speedbumps because as mentioned they are there to keep a parking lot or neighborhood full of kids safe. I was refering to trian crossings, dips in the intersection etc

no slow down = more rattle?

OK, so it seems some do and some don't and for some 'it depends'.

For those who tend not to slow down, do you have more rattles?

I agree! And railroad tracks? Railroad tracks haven't been rough in these parts since the 80's. Ever since then they're as smooth as the road!

We have both smooth railroad tracks (level-with-road) and fairly bumpy ones here.

Theres some nasty tracks here in chicago. UURG! Ihave had to slow down to damn near 5 mph to go over them. And i do slow down at speed bumps, or as i like to call them...sleeping policemen! Yeah, ever since i went over these new speed "humps"-longer than a normal speed bump, i scraped up my lower bumper pretty bad.
