I try to always slow down for bump, dips, potholes, and some RR xings. It's like a game of road dodge'em here in Wisconsin. My 02 suspension lets me know if I'm too fast. The big humps aren't around here much, but, they are a real pain in a fully loaded heavy duty conversion van. We "found" several on our recent trip to Colorado. If you hit one too fast things inside fly!

I look for curves so tight you can't see around them. I feel much better now that I have installed anti-shroom plates.

Heck yeah we slow down! Some of them around here are high enough to take out everything under your car if you don't.

I can remember two times my suspension bottomed out: (1) a pothole in downtown St. Louis, and (2) one of those square pits they sometimes dig into asphalt.

After reading about mushrooming, I went to the MINI and took a look and thought I did not have shrooming. Now that I have been thinking about installing those reinforcement plates and reading about how some have fitment problems if there is already mushrooming, I went out and checked the MINI again. A ruler does not lie completely flat. Do I have mushrooming?

OK Killadelphia ain't no joke, its like Bahgdad condition roads. I bottom out 5 times a day!!
OK now I come to near stop at any bump or pothole, I have had $5800 worth of damage done by potholes and figure the trucks and SUVs behind be ain't paying the bill. Cash paid!! MINI warranty did not cover, did not want to use insurance. Took out lip and mounting points the 1st time, 2nd time took lip, bumper cover, radiator mounts, and lower air panel, 3rd time lip and radiator mount. Also sway bars seem WRONG (or something in suspension). Oh and 2 GP wheels and one R98 wheel that cannot be balaned anymore, thats 2 grand to replace, but gonna see if I could send to Wheel Collision Center (only $450 to repair) Shock towers are like ROUND at top, nearly about to tear right through the metal, way beyond severe mushrooming.

Worst roads in America are probably in Illadelphia!!

I have one railroad crossing I traverse every day and I know it is perfectly level and flat, but others don't. They brake hard every time (not that I blame them...better safe than sorry) but I don't let up at all since I know the road. They probably think I'm crazy....but only until they find out I'm not.

I also have a tight left-hander that I can generally take w/o braking, accelerating on exit. On occasion I've had an SUV tailgating as I've gone into the curve, but not for long.

I love it when a Hummer, Tahoe or some such similar beast slows to a crawl to go over a small bump. Cracks me up.

Hey on those Hummers they might bounce one of those tow hooks up just right and take some paint off. Some of those hooks look like they could tow a 747 across a mud bog.

That's always fun!

I notice that sometimes too, especially when they are brand new.
