Soon to be a Two-Mini Family!

I was surprised last night to hear Julie tell me that she would like to trade in the Jetta and get a MINI. This is good news since she originally wanted a SUV - yeck! She wants a CVT Cooper so we are going to start shopping soon!

Yes a very fine choice. I would have a hard time choosing between PW/B S with no sunroof and a CR/W with no sunroof.

How ironic! My girlfriend and I went car shopping for her yesterday as well. First she drove a Mazda 3S and liked it but she wanted to go to the MINI. She drove a CVT Cooper first and then the new auto Cooper S. Well she is now is savings mode for a hyper blue/black auto cooper S My Dad haven driven my car wants a black/white cooper S manual. In 6 months we could be a 3 MINI family which will be a bit scary!

We were a 2 MINI family for 2 months, until hubby traded Louie for a BMW
I still miss the little red MINI Unfortunately he needed more room than what a 2 MINI & 1 Miata family could give him. Good luck in your pursuit BTW, if PW would have been available on the Cabrio, Sunnie would be a different color

Hurray for Julie! PW/B is lovely!!! I love the MCS's slot....oh, well!

I'd like to see family MINI fleets! What a fun thing for families to do: motor together!

Me too!

My wife picked up her Cooper right after the new year. After a month and a half of letting me drive it occasionally, my VW Jetta is up for sale and my Liquid Yellow/Black Cooper S is "On Order" scheduled for a April delivery!

My wife also has a '02 MC CVT Pepper White/Black roof. We have had it for 2.5 years and nearly 28K trouble free miles

You'll love it!

She could get an automatic MCS

But it will be at least $2K more than the MC CVT, plus more gas and insurance.

I agree with her about the mail slot in the S's bonnet which is bulbous compared to the MC (so maybe the slot provides visual relief). The shape of the bonnet may be described as a "power bulge" and distinguishes the MCS from the MC. Bonnet stripes seem to emphasize the difference.

Has she noticed in the MINIUSA configurator that the S bonnet is different from the real S's? I have been studying the configurator S image for months, comparing to photos of MCSs and kneeling on the ground in front of MCSs to recreate the same angle (I pretend to have dropped something and I realize the term is not "angle" but "station point"). Looking at a real S from that angle it is difficult to see so much of the offside fender and the bonnet does not slope as rakishly as on the configurator (or on the MC). The configurator S looks more like an MC hood with the mailslot added. It is a bit deceptive.

With 2 MINIs in the family I hope you won't miss not having a 4 door or a trunk.

Best wishes.

Welcome to the 2 MINI club. I have Azuul, an EB/W MCS (w/ 15% pulley and CAI); she has Ruby, a CR/W Cooper. Its fun when one of us is following the other -- then we attract attention!
