Gents going in for Supercharger service and a few other items
Questions:
-where can I find the o-rings that go on the supercharger fill and drain plugs? found them here but the company is in Europe. https://4revisionengines.com/product...-cooper-s-jcw/
-what vacuum lines, if any, should I change while the charger is out? (items that would only be accessible while im in there)
Some other items I plan to do this round:
-ati harmonic balancer
-tensioner and pulleys
-engine acc belt
-oil filter housing and gasket (housing is damaged)
-engine mounts (all three)
-drive shaft rubber boot repair (both drive shafts have ripped boots)
-water pump w all gaskets
-timing chain guides
-timing chain cover gasket
-timing chain tensioner
Rebuilt alternator - get a good one. Denso rebuild from FCPEuro is how I went. Crank sensor O ring. Be careful separating the vacuum lines - the red ring pushes in. Don’t pull without knowing how it works. Valve cover bolts are tricky. Valve cover gasket leaks.
Crankshaft position sensor o ring and camshaft position sensor o ring. Oil pan gasket, too. why not do you entire timing kit? And however the water pump connects to the block is a small water outlet. That has an o ring gasket on it, too.
Also, your timing cover is your oil pump. I got most everything I needed from rock auto and it was way better priced than anywhere else.
If you're pulling your axles, you could also replace the axle seals.

good thoughts, all of them. i've done most of the common o rings that usually leak, and the gaskets already. its still leaking somewhere on the right side of the engine. maybe the oil filter housing gasket, maybe the timing chain cover :(

The is a bolt in the centre of the timingchain cover, behind the crank pulley, that actually has an integrated oring. Took me some time to figure out that was leaking and not the cover or crankseal itself.
@LukasH stole my comment! we just finished Canadian thanksgiving the past weekend, seems as if you skipped that and went right to Christmas!
I know you said the original filter housing was damaged, what in particular is damaged to deem buying a new one? Curious
Secondly to that, if you havent yet, the pre-facelift housings were different from your original facelift one. Double check before installation that its the facelift version you received, the pre ones require a middle sleeve/screen. Does not matter which version you run so as long as its run correctly. Would hate to do all this work and be right back in briefly.
nice! when i did all that on mine, i was also doing suspension work, so the subframe was out. that gave me so much room. still, there's a surprising amount of room to work on these engines. happy wrenching!

Best of luck when you start the repairs!
i've not seen the damage to the filter housing but i can feel it. feels like a chip around the edge, just before the threads start. Twice now i think it has torn the gasket. Oil spills out allover the floor on first start after an oil change / filter change.

having the subframe out would be nice. originally i was thinking i would put in a new clutch kit but i scoped it back, i drive it as a daily. Next project will be a new clutch kit
got started yesterday. the charger is out. pics below of the condition and the oil from each side;
-the water pump side had less oil but was clearer in color. pulley side was under slight pressure (heard air escape as I pulled the drain plug)
-no play in the pulley
-the only bad so far was a broken plastic connection on the line that goes to the throttle body (more on that later)
