What kind/color stripes?

Hello all,

I'm not quite an owner yet- Sunday I go to pick up a 2004 indi blue MCS with white top and mirrors. The first thing I want to do is put stripes on the car. The question is - with all of the stripe options, what should I do? I feel that the white top limits me to using white in the stripe. I think my options are:

1. White stripe with silver accents
2. Silver stripes with white accents
3. White stripes with black accents

That said, I am definately open for suggestions as I have seen some combos on the road that would not have been obvious at first but look darn good in person. Oh, yeah, pics would be good if you have them.

TIA,
Matt

You could always do a white stripe with a white pinstrip offset. I am having a black stripe put on on Monday with a black pinstripe 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch off of the main stripe.

I will post pics on my site as soon as they are done.

But there are an infinite number of designs you could create in just white! I do think I'd stick to white... it really brings it all home with a white roof.

Godspeed.

blue/white stripe options

I too have a blue mini with white roof/mirrors coming. I have been thinking a lot about stripes as well. I have seen some cool stripes in the frosted material, also bright yellow might be an option but white stripes will still look the best I think.

I'll be interested to see other posts on this topic.

I've got an IB MCS and I decided to go with solid white stripes with no accent color.

I too had the stripe color debate with myself and went with the white because of the white roof. I thought it really tied everything together. However, I also think that frost stripes look amazing on IB. I still sometimes wonder if I made the right choice. I think Cooper Flags has a picture of an IB with frost stripes in their gallery.

Good luck and have fun with your decision.

I have always wondered where you get stripes if you don't get factory installed. Then do you apply them yourself or what. I have seen some neat variations here. Jerseygirl, I really like yours.

cooper flags

If you check out cooper flags website, they have all the info you need. Professional installation is recommended, but I think it could be done by a knowledgeable amateur.

The folks at cooper flags are extremely helpful and even sent me a sample of their frosted stripes so I could see how they look on the car. When I finally decide, they will have my business.

I have been pondering getting white strips with red accents on my BRG/W. The red accent to match the 'S' on the car. I might have to do a photoshop mockup t see how it will look.

Cooper flags does have a myriad of options.

I went with gold stripes on my BRG Cabrio. They look great & match the cordoba beige interior. Be creative. The frosted stripes supposedly pick up the color of the car. Sounds interesting.

There are lots of places to get stripes. I got mine from Cooper Flags but they are a bit pricey. Other alternatives include:
http://ministripes.com
http://mightystripes.com

OR if you have a local sign shop, they can make stripes for you in any size or shape you want.

Professional installation is recommended simply so that you have no excuse to go back and complain if you install them wrong and the stripes peel off. Personally, I installed mine myself. It took time and patience but there's nothing really that difficult about it. And no, I had never installed anything like that before.
