New Sparco seat

I found a Sparco Torino reclining seat that I'm thinking about getting for Sonja - does anybody have experience with these seats? What's a good price for one? Is the install difficult? How well do they hold you at the track?

Help a brother out

Try looking at the Grassroots Motorsports magazine website. They did a Mini project/race car and replaced the stock seats.

But really, the Mini has some of the best stock seats ever. The only better seats I've had were the sport seats in a 535is and a VW Scirocco.

Uh, no.

The MINI has terrible seats, even compared to my Toyota 4Runner sport seats. MINI sports seats creak and do little to hold the driver in place. My sister's 3-series has Recaro-like sport seats that are far superior as well. People replace the seats with Sparco Torinos, because they're identical to JCWs--and better than stock.

I LOVE my '03 MCS and mod it a lot, but the seats are no good.

I have the sport leather mcs seat, they aren't the best for sure. I like the look of aftermarket seats but I'm not sure they would be more comfortable. I'm sure they would be better for track use holding you in place nicely but for a daily driver the airbags and heat are very good features. Can I get the look of aftermarket seats, comfort and safety ? I know, I want it all.

No, no, no..

Try the EVO 8 sport seats...and compare with the minis. I owned a scirocco and the seats were good but not like the EVOs.

I agree, we have an Evo and those seats just hug you and don't let you move but are still comfy. My MINI isn't here yet, but from being in other's I do move around alot more than in the Evo

Good thing the 05 have a death grip handle for the passenger. The pre 05's don't have it so it makes for an interesting experience for the passenger.

And the Evo seats are comfy, aren't they? Off topic...are you paying much insurance for it? I priced it out and it's only about $300 more a year then the Mini.

I have to disagree...in any performance driving situation, the seats are not very supportive. I would agree with the "terrible" comment above.

Dont forget the VW R32...those seats are NICE
