R50/53 speed-sensitive radio volume
Cool discovery. Hold the note button (looks like a music note) until it says TONE LIN, and then press the note button again until it reads SPEED VOL and adjust using the volume ****.
crafty little buggers hiding all these features in the radio!

>>Didn't your motoring advisor show you all the fun little details? poor soul!
They showed me about making sure the gas tank cap was on correctly, and tire pressure reset, and that's about it. Bought it at closing on a busy day. Thought I covered the manual pretty thoroughly, but guess not!
I can quote chapter & verse on performance, though

Ha. As a customer of Herb Chambers of Boston, the idea is nearly inconceivable. With me, it was more like, yeah yeah, that's where the hood release is, now can you move the car so we can get this 5-year-old 7-series in here for service? Yeah, you can come back tomorrow if you want a copy of the bill of sale...
Anyway, to be honest I haven't even tried the speed-sensitive volume yet. I guess it's one of those features that I don't care quite enough about to actually remember how to use.
There's plenty of stuff in the manual that I'm sure I've forgotten...

The speed-sensitive volume is great! It saves you the trouble of constantly adjusting the volume as speed changes. My speed on the way to work varies from 20-80mph and the radio sounds the same at any speed. I use speed setting 3. 5 works well in the summer with the sunroof down. Enjoy!
Hey, you guys saved me time looking through the manual for this one. My dealer did go over everything, but forgot to tell me how to set the speed-sensitive option. Thanks.

Excellent info on the speed sensitive radio. Somehow, I thought it did it automatically, with no adjustments. My salesman went over the radio in some detail, but I missed it.
Thanks for the tip. I'll try it out on the way home.

>>I turned it off. I find it's too much fun to fiddle with the volume on the steering wheel.
I agree, the steering wheel controls are so perfectly placed, that I use them almost sub-conciously.
