R50/53 This is the best birthday I've ever had!!!!
I'm almost too excited to type! After a 5 day wait at port Elizabeth NJ, HARMINI was brought to the VPC yesterday morning. She went through the processing right away and arrived at Princeton MINI at noon today. My "motoring advisor" Alan Causing knew I was praying for a Dec 10th delivery, so he shuttled my MINI into the service bay and called me to say that it will be ready by 6pm.
This is/was my birthday itinerary:
11AM European Facial
12:30PM Deep Tissue Massage
2PM I arrived home to learn the good news about HARMINI
6PM pickup HARMINI at Princeton MINI
8PM dinner at Sophie's Bistro (my favorite restaurant: French gourmet)
10PM onward: some good birthday luvin'
Thanks to all on MCO for helping me keep my sanity these last few weeks. You guys are the best!

Congratulations HARMINI-- that is great news!!
I bet you already have the permagrin affixed to your face! Since your Cooper was built the same week as mine, that certainly gives me hope that mine will be here soon too!
Can't wait to see pics!

For the 10 p.m. and onward part, make sure you use a nice blanket in HARMINI!

Enjoy that good birthday lovin' but be careful and don't go too much above 4000k for the first 1000 miles!
This is a time to take it nice and easy and enjoy every last minute/mile

Ooops! My bad. Almost forgot to say...
HAPPY BIRTHDAY! CONGRATS!
Motor on!
-Otto
P.S. My Mini is scheduled for delivery the same month as my birthday. Maybe I will get the same nice surprise on my birthday.
Hell, I'd just settle for the 10:00!

Thanks for all the congrats! It's the morning after, but the permagrin is still with me. My MINI is more beautiful and powerful than I imagined. I didn't take pictures yesterday of any part of the itinerary (sorry to disappoint, guys), but I'll be bringing my camera with me to Helix this weekend to take before/after shots of the clear tail light swap. I'll be sticking around to check out the Dyno testing. I hope to see some of you there.
To those that are still awaiting delivery, just hang in there. As many others have said, the wait is well worth it. I'll never forget my drive home from the dealer's. Cruising up Route 1, CD cranked, sunroof open, heated seats and auto temp. control keeping me toasty all the way. I LOVE those heated seats!
