MINI's First Birthday Party!
Mini Charity Run/ Birthday Party!

HOLD April 5th open. Ferman Mini of Tampa Bay is planning a large birthday party at their dealership. This will be a statewide event! There will be music, entertainment, food, prizes, etc. A trip to the MINI factory will be given away.

There will be a charity ride to benefit the Special Operations Warrior Foundation which funds scholarships for S.O. children who have lost a parent.

It will be around the bay and end in Ybor City at a restaurant/bar. We're working on a hotel discount for Saturday night for all. It will be escorted by FHP & TPD.

This could double as an organizational event for the group??? Whadya think?

Well I talked to Minimad and he has talked to more people "in the know" at Ferman than I have. Sounds like the big event Ferman MINI of Tampa Bay is planning has a green light for April 5th.
Hope to see you all there.

This is a must do on the list. And as Minimad says this would make a grea time to get together and figure which way the statewide clug thing is going to work. Keep this alive and spread the word. Less than a month to get the word out and make plans.

So who else is going to be there, or is there another hotel/motel you guys are going to group at. The cost is $89 per night. We will arrive Friday night.

Please someone post the event schedule for Ferman here. so we know what to expect.

I ran into 2minis Tuesday at Ferman Mini on the way to the British club meet. There we picked up our flyers for the Ferman MINI of Tampa Bay 1st Anniversary Celebration. Motor run registration begins a 11 am Saturday April 5th. $25 registration fee includes a special edition commemorative t-shirt and acess to anniversary celebration VIP area. What ever that is. Motor run begins at 3 PM from Ferman Mini to Ybor City fo a post-Motor run party at Cherrie's. A normal drive from this location takes about 45 - 60 minutes. So think of all the MINI's that will be on the road going to the same place. Ye HA!

How can we register, if we don't live close but plan on joining in on the activities?
Thanks,

Hi, all! I met with them again today.

You will receive a 4 color mailer on this and probably an email (if we can get them). The VIP area (open only to Mini registrants) will probably be a large tent. Inside will be catered food (probably Carraba's) and entertainment (The Shaguars, Yeah Baby!) There will be other entertainment, radio broadcasts, raffle, etc. Looks like airfare for 2 to the UK & tour of the MINI plant courtesy Ferman & Virgin Atlantic may be the big prize! This can be HUGE! And FUN! I told them to tell FHP to cut us some slack when we reach the roundabouts!

They want every Mini/MINI owner possible to attend. They will try to get this certified as the "Largest Mini Run in the US" by Guiness World Records! Please spread the word & get everyone to attend!

I posted that there are also hotels near I4 & I75 not far from Ybor that may have lower rates. But if you're downtown, come & see the Tampa Museum of Art's Magna Graecia exhibit (shameless plug for my employer). It is a unique exhibit of Greek & Roman antiquities that only Cleveland MoA & Tampa MoA have. They've never been out of Italy before, and some objects have never been displayed before, even in Italy.

Charity:
Special Operations Warrior Foundation - I met their rep today. A 501 c3 charity that provides children of Special Operations Forces the college education their fallen parent would have wanted for them. There have been 13 kids added to this group since 9/11 sad to say. Currently, they support 58 children with educational support. An appropriate charity for this time.

Just sent an email to Kadie at Ferman Mini minigal@fermanmini.com I asked if the $25 was for 1 person or the car registration. Also aked if there is a preregistration or only at Ferman MINI. You can email her then they can get more of an idea how many of us are coming.

dpilgram,

Thanks for the @

Has anyone decided if the Hyatt is in their best interest, as I do not know Tampa, and have made reservations for my wife and I, but I am willing to change if someone knows of a cheaper, and just as clean place.

Let me know so I can change my res, if needed.

I'm looking at the flyer Kadie sent me, and she says there'll be more info on pre-registering soon. It's a corporate-sponsored event, so there are still a few bugs in the process of getting the word out.

NOTE: Right across the street from Ferman Mini is a Red Roof Inn that allows pets. Thought some of you folks might want that info...

dahens1,

What is the exact address of that red roof, I only found 3 in Tampa, and none of them had a zip code or street address close to Ferman.

That sounds like a much better place to congregate.

StarLog,

I believe dahen1 is talking about a Red roof Inn that is near the Ferman MINI dealership where the anniversary takes place in Palm Harbor. Am I correct dahen1?

Just recieved this email form Ferman Mini

"I spoke with the lady in charge of the event. She said that they will begin
pre-registration next monday, the 24th. They will email all interested
parties with more details then. I'll pass along your email address. She also
said that they would be posting the pre-reg. info on the internet. Feel free
to email me with any other questions."

I just emailed everyone whose address I had reguarding the pre-registration for the event. I was told this morning that I can begin the pre-reg. now. Anyone interested please get in touch with me: minigal@fermanmini.com . I have seen some of you talking about a hotel closer to the dealership. I do have the info for the Red Roof, which is close to us, but let me share the reasoning for the Hyatt in Tampa. The run will end up at Cherries, I guess there will be some drinkin there and I was told that the Hyatt was very close to Cherries for that reason. With that being said here is the info for the Red Roof: (727)786-2529 or (800)843-7663 32000 U.S. Hwy 19N Palm Harbor FL 34684. It is good to see that there is so much interest in the event! I hope to meet you all soon! Please get in touch with me so we can get your pre-registration done.

The trip and the plant tour is not yet a done deal.
There are liability issues to be worked out but take
it from me...this will be a meet worth registering for.
I think the primary thing to remember is the charity
aspect...but the top prize..which has not been announced
formally by Ferman..is going to make you wish you
came.....
Apparently, 'guests' never tour European automobile
plants but it is being worked on.....
Updates will follow....
Live music, three radio stations will be broadcasting and
did I mention food and drink???

Yes, and please do not forget that the $25.oo registration is all going to charity.
For the action and food, and music, I gladly donate $50.oo to charity, my wife and I are in like flint.
