Driving without wheel well liners

My project R53 doesn't have front wheel well liners. The previous owner removed them and never put them back. I've been driving it without, but only in dry weather. Is it safe to drive without wheel well liners? I'm worried that water could splash up into the engine bay.

I tried running mine without liners for a while -- underhood looks much better without them IMHO. But, even while not driving in the rain you'll run through puddles from sprinklers, construction, etc. That dirty water will splash all over your engine bay. I put mine liners back on for that very reason.

Removed both my wheel liners since I like the look of an exposed wheel when you open the engine bay. Been close to 2 years now with them off and I have not had any electrical issues whatsoever.

Of course it will !! Get that nice insulation on the underside of the hood all crappy with dirt and water. How would you even "wonder" about this ?
So, pretty simple, you either do more cleaning, or...you put them back in place.

the ecu and all the sensors have gaskets, ecu is mostly sealed with a black tar like glue, the ecu box does drain and has a cover.

it makes a huge mess of the engine bay

wow! what about rocks and debris in the supercharger belt? that spinning crank pulley looks so exposed. I'm trying to route brake ducts right now and getting rid of fender liners would really help!

no other issues @ttawfik3 besides things getting dirty?

I only really use my car for the track, but days like this definitely happen! (and they are super fun)
