Heyas guys...

I'm thinking of making my new MCS to be a IB/IB model with the Aero kit... and a sunroof. I love the car in Austin Powers so much that I'd like to make my own copy. I've seen the one on Carvogue on a Cooper without a sunroof, and it looks great... anybody know of anyone who has had this done on a car with a sunroof? I'm a bit weary on how they will install... Minis have a lot of compound curves to deal with... but if I can pull it off... and get the "GR8 ****" euro plate... I'll be in hog heaven.

Not sure what you're asking. Are you wanting to have the Union Jack covering you car like the Austin version?? I wouldn't see why it couldn't be done. Bring it to an auto design shop, and I'm sure they'd do it. Costly though, I'd imagine. Never saw the union jack roof on a MINI until a while ago. It's just a decal over the whole roof. I always thought it was painted on.
There's some pretty fancy decal designs on a lot of cars out there. It wouldn't be too complex to re-create the look onto yours. That would be pretty schnazzy though.
Cheers,

whoa, it's funny you just posted this -- i got done watching Goldmember like 25 minutes ago...

it's hilarious when they're in the MINI, about to hit one of the two oncoming buses... when you see them screaming at eachother, then taking a breath, changing who they're making eye contact with about 5 times, finally until they swerve in between the two buses

There are graphic companines making roof decals for cars with sunroofs. They use a perforated vinyl that allows light to pass through the window but decal still looks great too but the area over the sunroof looks a bit "grey" compared to the rest of the decal.

Pic is better than anything I could describe!.

Yeah, I've been to Carvogue... my current Mini has a stock UJ that I put on myself... I just want to go all out with the new one. I e-mailed Moss Mini, as they're a distributor for Carvogue in the states... if I hear anything I'll post it here.

SarcuxKSU, contact CMINIGO. We both ordered the UJ from CarVogue and I installed mine myself but she found someone in Los Angeles who took the CarVogue decal and made it even better. The CarVogue decal does not come all the way to the edges and her person made it so it would. Mine looks good but hers looks great.

If I am allowed to get another MINI (my wife isn't so sure) than I would get the blue and do the Austin Powers. Although I would drive to LA to have her person do that one.

Good luck!

When the sunroof retracts, does it go into the roof cavity?

If so, are you worried about the durability of the decal? It would be a shame to see the thing getting scraped off.

I'm really interested in this issue since it will add a new dimension to how I spec my future MCS.

I'm talking about the decal that covers the entiure car, noot just the roof. My current Mini has the OEM UJ on the roof. I'm thinking of painting the full-body UJ on myself... with metallic red and white paint to match the metallic Indi Blue... that way I can paint the grill and fenders at the same time. Should be cool. Will robably have to forgo on the sunroof, though...

We have already designed a full wrap Union Jack along with a full wrap U.S Flag for the MINI. Key word is desinged, but not produced. The graphic is a 3M application and covers the entire car. You can see what the mock-up looks like here - I've incorporated it into our logo. If you are serious about this I could have a final product shipped in a few weeks. http://www.cooperflags.com

the full website should be up towards the end of the week.

BadSMini...

Do you have a mailing list? How much would such a flag cost? How does it handle the compound curves of the car? I'm still seriously considering painting it on, but if you could make one to work with my sunroof as well, I'd go with your business. Please PM me. Thanks!

Send me an e-mail at info@cooperflags.com and I will add you to our mailing list. The graphic fits to all the angles of the car and is much easier to install and remove than painting. The graphic will also not fade the paint. I used this graphic on three different vehicles (2 Fords and a Honda) for a year and when removed there was no paint fade at all. Plus the car retains the resale value if the next Mike Myers film flops

I will get you the exact cost is just a bit - the graphic would include (front and rear stripes, roof graphic for sunroof, side decals and front/side/rear window applications) isand would come with a 3M Scotchprint warranty.

I went to your site and saw the UJ... don't like how the design is reverse on the bonnet... I'll paint it on.
